This was really good thanks John. The new system works FAST and Smoothly!! I'm loving it already. This felt way less intimidating than before and I believe others will have the same experience. Excellent job with the new system. Seeing how you use the "Edit Selection Set" pallet was super interesting and it will definitely speed up some of my own workflow as well

Thanks Francois! Yes the new SYSTEMS is very fast and easy to use! I'll definitely be posting some more videos on it here soon to followup on questions and the scopes we couldn't get to. 11 our of 22 reports isn't bad though for 60 minutes + setup time!

Thanks for this John - professional and inspiring! How do you check that you have remembered to classify all the elements for pricing? Do you have a seperate report that shows what elements that is not classified in your classification? So one can easily see that "these elements" remain to be classified? Thanks for any answers!

Hey there! Sorry I may have missed this reply. There are audit reports that will highlight the content not classified. You can either run an interactive schedule audit, or a 3d audit with graphic override is usually a good method too. I think I show a little of it at the end of this vid...

When importing IFC models from other applications, there could be bugs. Do you recommend remodelling before using your system? It would be great if you did a video on importing random IFC model to AC and then using your scheduels. And then as you go along talk about the errors and bugs that could appear. Hi Rasmus, thanks for the comment! I've had some great success with IFC, and some cases where it's quite limiting in terms of quantity output. Much of it depends on how the original model was built in other software. This S-Model sample project actually has some imported IFC elements I believe, specifically for the MEP systems, I'll have to do a followup video exploring how well, or not they work. One other note on IFC elements and objects that produce terrible quantity takeoffs. In the SYSTEMS workflow demonstrated, the takeoffs are expression based formulas, so they will go and find the best measurement, from elements that work by the rules. For elements that don't work (meaning no good quantity data), they can always be overwritten in the Expression! So if you have an element that requires a length value, but can't get that from the junk IFC elements, you can do a 2 second measurement, and plug in the accurate quantity, overriding the automated quantification. This value still works when plugging in a unit cost and factors, to calculate a total cost. This is faster than remodeling, and you could batch run this by selecting multiples, or by exporting to Excel, and running a quick formula to overwrite all the values based on an IFC property type produced upon export. Hope this makes sense, I'll have to demo this function
