perfectly explained! just one comment: for duplicating objects in a PC you would have to use the ctrl key (not the alt). for multiplying objects use the ctrl+alt combination.

Hi Eric not sure this is the place to ask questions but anyway. So I have this question or questions. 1. how about lets say imported objects from sketchup and you ant them to work in archicad with their own custom symbol. i have followed your tutorial but im having issues with the custom symbol and 3d being missaligned in plan as well as 3d. how would one fix the alignment? 2. is it also possible to have the 2d symbol scalable withouth scaling the 3d object?

Can the hot spots you created be used to adjust the lenths of pieces of the object? or are they just snap points?

Hello, I was wondering if there's a way to embed the hotspot object into the newly created object so that when you go to load and place the new object into a different file, you won't have to load the hotspot object in separately as well. (The issue that i've been running into is that i get an error when trying to view the new object in 3D in a new file... error saying that it cannot find hotspot object.)

Hi Eric, I would like to create a half spiral staircase. I Drew it with the fill and than I pressed "create stair using selection", but it gave me this error:"The edges of Treads No. 0 and 1 of the solid stair slab intersect. Try decreasing nosing or extend the winder rage." Can you help me please?

Hey Eric, I'm working in Archicad 17 and can't have tried to create a custom window. I drew it out of slabs etc. I then saved it from a 3D view as a window but when place it just looks like a ill oriented hole. Could you walk me through how to do this and help me figure out where I am going wrong?
