It's the worst UK Soap Town to visit next to Springfield on Guiding Light. Nobody to spend it with, eating Xmas Dinner at a Chinese Food Restaurant, being on the outs with Family, not having loved ones home because they are doing community service in another state, not realizing that a Family Member is dead because they left town and didn't leave a forwarding address. Being attracted to your Older Husband's very attractive Son.

@@richardmccarthy6447 God I saw the scene in a Den Watts Documentary. Man was Straight A Gangsta! I could see someone like Roger Thorpe played by the Late Michael Zaslow 1944-1998 who played Roger Thorpe on the Show on and off from 1971-1997. Then sleeping with his Adopted Daughter's Best Friend because she didn't have a proper Male Role Model growing up.

Aww, poor you. Guiding Light The US Soap Opera had some "Sad" Xmases as well. Eating Chinese Food at a Restaurant, thinking your Brother is dying and he isn't. Spending the day with your New Young Wife who will dump you for your own Son. I told US Soap Fans about Eastenders Xmases and they were surprised.

Also because it was Xmas she probably wanted to have everyone have a good time and no sadness. My Aunt & I watch Eastenders in Canada and she indirectly told me that the past couple of Xmases haven't been happy ones either. What would have been heavy if they played "Hold You Head Up" by Argent. Despite everything that has happened, good as well as bad, they still have their pride.

I always admire the Folks in Albert Square. They have had much better Pub Owners & Landladies than The Rovers Return on Coronation Street. I also feel that there's more of a comradery where in Weatherfield people are too harsh and quick to "Judge" forgetting their own sordid past and sins. Isn't it ironic. Peggy tells Mark Fowler to get out of her Pub back in the day and now she's getting out by being kicked out.
