I suspect Gray was played in CB because Ange likes his holding midfielder to drop into a back 3 . He wanted to see how Archie would fare there. To test him.

Yea I think he sees Gray as our CDM for next season so he's testing his defensive abilities. I really thought he joined to either play RCM position or RB position but I guess for Ange it will be CDM. RCM position will be cemented down by Bergvall lol, he's so good.

He played well but he has "haters" for a reason, even if that's a strong word for it. He's underwhelmed for 4 different clubs in the past 3 seasons with reports of attitude issues too, his career is badly need of rehabilitation. We don't know if he's prepared to grind at Spurs or if he's just trying hard now to make a move more achievable. Nothing against him making a comeback though, would love to see it.

because our CBs are on holiday and its probably the best position to test his defensive skills since I imagine we'd want to play him at cdm in the future.
