Archie is a #6 but last year Leeds couldn't get a real right back onto the field so Archie slotted in.

Wharton, Mainoo and Gray are the future of England's midfield! Dynamic, head-up, versatile players who can take the ball on the half turn and pass forward. Exactly the type of midfielder England have struggled to produce for decades!

Emerson would leave and he will play RB, and invert to midfield and also can start at CM when Ange wants. He is like J.Kimmich. Great signing for them.

F the stats - do the eye test. Archie is excellent - you've got yourself a bargain.
@robwalters25372 ай бұрын
You can’t just do one or the other imo. Some stats tell you a lot, potentially stuff youve missed when watching the player, and some stats are less useful. But yeah ofc you can’t just go off stats alone.
@TheTangyapple2 ай бұрын
I like the way you think. But stats are great for showcasing when players are quietly proving effective
@RL-2 ай бұрын
@@TheTangyapple exactly. I find those who deny objective, recorded facts that illustrate how valuable or effective a player is at something (or overall) can't be relied upon when describing a player, because those eyes are connected to a subpar brain. They only parrot convenient stats that enable their viewpoint, rather than acknowledging all relevant facts in an unbiased fashion. The same fans will praise basic, surface stats but then call you a stats merchant if you add context, even if you see every game and actually properly watch how they're playing on and off the ball lmao. They'll rave about a striker scoring 20 goals, but won't point out that it's after 3000 minutes, 5 penalties, 130 open play shots and an average chance quality that results in higher expected goal tallies, which would obviously be an underperformance. Or they'll call someone a "baller" simply because of his take-on *attempt* rate and pace, but won't be able to comprehend that a high take-on success rate due to a very high attempt rate with a low completion percentage isn't good by any means. I genuinely just read the claim João Félix is an elite dribbler who can break lines so he'd be good for Chelsea, yet his average success rate in the last three years is 32%. For comparison, the likes of Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, Kovačić and Hazard were 60-80% on average 😭

Archie is better than an 18 y/o Declan Rice
@pottero62 ай бұрын
I think Gray is better on the half-turn than Rice. I know he wasn't at his best this summer for England but it was painful to watch Rice receive the ball and just play the way he was facing time and again. Gray has the ability to receive the ball on the half turn and open up new passing lanes. I can see him, Wharton and Mainoo even pushing Rice out of his comfy position as a guaranteed England starter in the coming years.
@thedon1004Ай бұрын
He is a much better footballer than Rice. Can receive the ball any way it comes to him, back to goal, half turn etc, much better passing range. The only advantages Rice has are physically because he is already a grown man and experience. That's it.

lol that 3-5-2 formation you’ve come up with is a joke. I can’t take anything you say seriously if you believe that Ange would ever run this system. His track record shows that 2 things have been consistent in Ange’s system: Fullbacks inverting into midfield. & Wingers staying high and wide to pin opposition fullbacks deep.
@robwalters25372 ай бұрын
I’m sorry Adam because I do like your videos. But those tactical suggestions on lineup builder were absolutely nonsensical. They don’t make sense and Ange would never completely change the system like that, he’d only make tweaks in personnel and their specific instructions, like any good manager of a top level club.
