I'm between this one and the Focusrite 8i8. I'm wanting upgrade from a Focusrite 2i2. I need a few more inputs and just a few more outputs so I was looking at this old 476 and the Focusrite 8i8. should I spend the extra bit and go for the volt? or not worth it? im just a musician and play a bit of everything. wanting to record my original music and demos. I'd appreciate if you could help me out!

I’ve had my 2 channel Focusrite Scarlet for just about 10 years now. I think this UA 4 channel interface is the perfect upgrade. I’ve been wanting to mic my 2x12 amp with a dynamic and a ribbon mic, AND go DI. Now I just hope my computer can process all those channels at once. 😂 Thanks for this detailed video on this product. You answered pretty much all of my questions.

I've gone through two Tascam interfaces, the US-4x4 and the US-16x08. Both died after the warrantee expired but before the two year mark. As you can imagine, I've given up on Tascam. I've gone to the UA Volt 476P and I find it's a big improvement over what the Tascam units offered (when they worked).

Can you use the compressors like a plugin rather than printing the compression when tracking?
@consciousimagesllc2210 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use them like external analog hardware by routing out of your DAW, through the 476p and back in
@andrew.lozano2 жыл бұрын
One of the biggest problems I'm having with the UAD VOLT is that on a Mac using logic pro with mastering plug-ins and my output at unity gain on both main Output and Output 1/2 , The UAD introduces a lot of audio clipping. There is no way to lower the input signal so that it doesn't clip the output without turning down logic pro. Traditional interfaces usually have a software control panel to adjust the output. The volt does not have that therefore it's useless when doing mixing and mastering in all DAWS. I have tested this in Logic Pro and Abelton. If your output is at -1it outputs really bad clipping. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this.
@therealMS_ Жыл бұрын
Hey, do you resolve your problem ? I want to buy a new interface and I actually use Logic Pro, hesitate btw 476P and the Clarett 4Pre+. If you still have your problem with the 476P, maybe I shouldn't buy it

Hello. I have purchased a universal audio volt 476p and want to use it for live performances as well. I have a connection problem. I need to connect a trumpet, a keyboard, a microphone to the interface and I have an iPad where I play the backing tracks, but I also need to use a mixer. So when I use the front inputs that come directly from the instruments and microphones and I use the outputs that then go to the mixer, only the two monitor outputs work, which are the first two channels that I connect to the mixer. The other outputs do not. Please can you help me with that kind of connection? Thanks
@machaka571 Жыл бұрын
Can the 6 outputs route individual signals? Or 1 & 2 are necessary a copy of monitor L & R signal? I want an interface which also works for my live shows so I need it to rout at least 5 diferent individual signals.

I got it today, but I am facing a problem. When I turn up the volume of the headphone to the highest level, the sound card cuts and restarts itself. Is this normal because it is protected from loud sound, or is there a problem?

Can the 48v phantom power be turned on for each input separately? Or does it only turn them all on or off?

I don’t have this interface, but I don’t think that is true. When you press the 48v button on the front, you then press the instrument button for any input you don’t need phantom power. Isn’t that the case?

Dummy question here..... I only see one 48v switch, so they are either all on 48v or all off, right? So using a condenser and dynamic at same time.... how is it possible? The 48v is switched on for all channels and just doesn't affect the channel with dynamic plugged in? (Acoustic guitar with condenser and dynamic for vocals is what I'm thinking...) Thanks for any info!

I’m currently using a Presonus 24C and having major issues with it-mixer knob doesn’t work, can’t hear my vocals in headphones, SUPER low signal and shitty, distorted vox recordings without clipping on more than one mic. This looks like a great replacement! Any idea how it compares to Tascam? Was looking at their $499 interface and also a nicer mic

I just got this and I’m having issues hearing myself as loud as I’d like in the headphones while recording. When I turn the gain up, the recording gets distorted. Using a Sterling mic.

DO NOT waste your time and money on these budget interfaces. When people say they don't matter it's BS. Save up and get some high end converters. I've been mixing for 18 years and went through focusing, apollo, ssl, black lion and other interfaces. Once I got some lynx aurora converters I finally got the depth and sound I had been missing. Just my opinion.
