Got the Alpha 80, the old one. I need more monitors for another studio, wonder if Alpha Twin Evo or Alpha 80 Evo are te best for me. Anyone know the two ? Im ok to consider stuff that cost more, but only Focal.

i keep trying to use a voice on the free plan and it says "you are not allowed to use this voice, upgrade plan" so which voices can you use on the free plan?

The legato sounds pretty good but unconnected runs still sound synth-like to me - at least when you play them quickly on the keyboard. Maybe it was the result of using the legato articulation but not overlapping the notes played.

AB i like the new UAD vocal plugin suite but why buy it when you have a great hardware vocal chain?
@jordanrogers9832Күн бұрын
You should really keep a space above your Apollos . The manual calls for under 104 degrees ambient air . A lot of units go for repair because of blocking the tops

What do you think about the Neve 2254 r mono limiter compressor? I’m thinking of getting a 1073 SPX and then going through the 2254 compressor for a vocal chain. Any Ideas or suggestions.

TLM 103 Into A Neve 5025 Shelford Dual Pre going into the Neve Diode Bridge Comp, into an Apollo x8. But I also use both the stereo pre and comp for my mix bus, then go into a vitalizer mkII. Printed back in the box and finished with required mastering fixes. Then clip (for loud music) then limiter

Nice, Archie. Good review. Excellent machine. Unfortunately, too $ for my thin wallet. I am in the market for something akin to it...though at a less threatening my survival cost. A.R.T. just came out with something similar (of course, more basic and not in the same top shelf league) in their Solo line for about $300. Closer to my sweet spot. Have a great Turkey Day!

This mic sounds SO smooth, with a nice sparkle to it. It captures the nuances of a voice like very few others at this price point can.

Best mic I have ever owned. I got rid of every other mic I owned, kept only the e835. Great for all applications, tough as nails and most importantly sounds great on all sources, easy to eq to how you want it to sound.

EMTs are plate reverbs. One of the first types of artificial reverb, the plate reverb was originally produced using a magnetic driver (think of a speaker coil) to initiate (drive) vibrations in a large sheet of metal. The large metal plate (usually six to seven feet long by three to four feet wide) vibrated via a signal passed from a transducer. The vibrations were then captured with a contact microphone. The result was dense, warm, and inviting. The EMT 140 is easily the most celebrated of the early plate reverb designs, and it was a mainstay at Abbey Road Studios in the 1960s. Thus, you can hear it all over the Beatles’ and Pink Floyd’s early recordings.

Well… few things here. I didn’t use an 87, I removed all the internals and built a custom handmade tube mic from the body and capsule. I would use the gml pre, adding a tiny bit of 5khz on the eq, the GML gives you the raw sound of the microphone. I then would run the output to the BAE 1073 line input and use the filter and eq circuit. Depending on the song I would use the CL1b, shadow hills mono opto, or a bae 1176 (500c). I also modded the tube tech with telefunken NOS tubes to give a less transparent and unique character. This is also our home set up, at studios the chain would change up all the time.

hello, i got a Shure m7b mic and whenever i try to use it to record on my logic pro 11 breaks. for example, if i sing a long word it breaks and doesn't record everything, it is so annoying and frustrating, please do you know the reason for this? because i used same mic to record in fl studio and it works fine except that i only like to make beats in fl studio and prefer to record vocals and mix with logic
