@@fantaztikbeatz Actually, I'm happy with the purchase. I kinda wish I chose my second WA76 as the CL1B. One of my goal was two sun a stereo pair for mastering but both units weren't calibrated the same so I just Print Left Channel and Right Channel separately. The main Pre I run the 251 mic into the neve WA pre, into the WA76 (max -5 dB compression), then follow that p with a digit 1176 -3dB compression soothe and Pro-C shooting for vocal to be -9 with Threshold around -13 and about 2-3 dB of compression. I really like the sound (:

What cable from the power supply connects the WA 251 into the Apollo interface? Is it an XLR? I guess my question is, does the mic connect into the Apollo easily?

Wa251 was the 1st tube mic I bought together with WA273 mic preamp. After a while I acquired also the WA47. I was impressed in the begining by the WA251 but after a while decided to sell it. For my taste it had some harshness on some frequecies. I am still keeping the WA273 and the WA47. The preamp creates such a nice vocal tone when used with a good fet or tube mic. Tried with fet mics from Gefell and Neumann, and tube mics from Warm Audio, Telefunken, Stam Audio and custom U47 with it. Warm produces some great gear for the price. Highly recommend the WA273.

I’m in the same boat! From what I’ve understood so far from watching so many videos is that the WA is a direct replica of the 1073 but at a discounted price. Which allows more people to save some money and get what the 1073 may or may not deliver! I have never had either so I can’t really compare unless I get started with one or the other! Right?

Thanks for the video - really useful. I've got a couple of questions 1) Is there a reason you used balanced TRS cables to go from the WA-2A to the interface instead of XLR's? 2) What if you had a vocal already recorded but wanted to send/record it through the WA-2A, how would you set that up? Can it be done without a patch bay?

i noticed you plugged the out of your WARM into the mic/preamp in of your interface? does that mean your signal from your WA was then going into the preamp of the interface? is it recommended to go through the preamp or bypass the preamp of your interface? also i noticed you have your WA73 settings exactly the way i have mine.

Great channel! I\m A big fan and have the same vocal chain. I use the WAEQ273 which is a dual 1073 clone. I believe Warm recommends using the insert channel here when inserting a compressor in the chain, and the use of unbalanced cables, and then out to the interface.Anyway keep up the good work. Much respect to you. Peace.

thank so you for this video I have been looking all over for a simple video like this that explains how to connect two outboard pieces together. My question is, is this a general setup? I have a GML 2020 and just got a Neve 1073spx would they connect the same way and if so how do I know that the GML is functioning in conjunction with my Neve? any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If your preamp has Line inputs make sure to use those instead so you bypass the on board preamps.

But this does not bypass the unison preamp as only the rackmount apollo pres can be bypassed which means their will be 2 gain stages

With all the respect let me ask you. Why after already using a mic preamp are you plugging in the the TRX to the preamp on the interface ?!? Don’t that means that now your using 2 preamps now ? instead of plugging it in one of your input of your interface ?

@seanoharamusic
@seanoharamusic Жыл бұрын
You need an audio interface to convert the analogue signal to digital and then to interface with your PC. You can use an Apollo interface with a Windows PC, as long as you have a Thunderbolt port & updated drivers. You can also go with any other (less expensive) interface like a Focusrite.

Once again for all your videos. How come it is so hard for you to say whether on the Apollo you use it in bypass or you use it with line gain and how much line gain. I don’t get it. One of the most important parts of the vocal chain, and in all your videos, you never are thorough enough to go through that detail.
