Bought a used Hot Springs Grandee two weeks ago. The ACE system says it's functioning but is producing almost zero chlorine even when set to 5 and turning on boost. Just ordered a Scepter, thanks for the informative video. Glad I don't need to spend $800 on a new ACE

Absolutely incredible. My ACE cell "lasted" 3 years. In that time, I always had to put in extra chlorine. It makes me think it never was working. I never once saw it produce bubbles like the scepter. I ordered this, installation was extremely easy and I can actively see it working. Incredible product and a huge savings.

This is perfect - thanks! 4 year old Hot Springs tub came with our new home and I had no clue about how to take care of it. I was about to get a replacement Ace cell when I thought “there must be an alternative” and that’s when I found your video. Great to have options, and also to know about switching the polarity - that I had no clue on.

What kills me is not only the price of the OEM Ace Cell (which is indeed insane highway robbery), but the fact that these systems were so poorly designed and manufactured. Ace Cell premature failure a well documented "known issue" across the web but the manufacturer hasn't the integrity to stand behind their flaw. The Sceptor is a great solution, Thanks.

I'm in the same boat. Same exact tub. Same exact crappy ACE cell that died. I just ordered the Scepter, and this video pushed me over the top! Thanks!

This Scepter is amazing. It works about 1000 times better than that crappy ace cell. As of this date it’s flawless. Keeps the water crystal clear.

Thanks for this. Your video should make things go smoother for me. The original cell in our Jetsetter lasted seven years surprisingly. Super clean well water may be the reason. Maybe the Sceptre will last the same. Good day, and happy tubbing. Winter coming up.

Thank you so much for this video. We have a Hot Springs Pulse model and we’ve had nothing but trouble with our Ace system. I just purchased the scepter and am anxiously awaiting delivery. By the way, we were told at our local Hot Springs dealer that some kind of bulletin was issued by Hot Springs to not use granular chlorine because it contains a stabilizer (CYA) that kills the salt cells. I have no idea if this is true, this is in direct conflict from what they’ve told us in the past. Our stabilizer level isn’t that high, so we will do a partial drain and refill when the scepter arrives, and only use liquid chlorine from now on.

Thank you so much I love your video I decided to do this project today September 2022 to my surprise the new now comes with all of the gray pieces already on the wire so there is no manipulating anything basically out of the package ready to plug right in I did it following your instructions everything went perfectly well it took me longer to take the cover on and off than it did to put in this new salon like you see as soon as you plug it in and turn the power back on immediately you can see it working which is such a nice charm thanks again for everything

For well over a year I have been struggling with balancing my hot tub. Finally when visiting the retailer an employee told me my salt water sensor was bad. She said I could run it on chlorine but…I wanted a salt water system . Oh my gosh, I have had this hot tub for six years and could not figure out what was wrong. When I checked replacing the sensor plus labor it was $1000+. In addition, I was told that I would need to do this about every three years. I purchased the scepter replacement salt cell and am terrified that I will mess this up. But your video explains everything step by step. I will let you know how it turns out. Just a girl, terrified at taking this on. I will update my success using your video to change the sensor.

You got this. And, you will love it. It’s the perfect solution to salt hot tubs and actual chlorination generation and I wasn’t paid but them or told what to say. It works.

I'm giving this a shot. We had a 2018 Envoy NXT installed in March of 2019. Late 2020, the salt cell died. The hot tub company kept swearing up and down it was probably my water as the cell shouldn't die that quickly, but after they finally came out and futzed with it a few times and tested my water they agreed it needed to be replaced. The part was $800, but they covered the labor for "free". Ugh. Here we are now in Fall 2022, and my tub control panel is frequently showing "check salt cell". We've always had trouble with little black flecks in the bottom of the tub, which I believe are from the salt cell slowing falling apart. Seems simple enough to replace! Fingers crossed. It's interesting Hot Springs has never addressed this, nor did anyone tell us there was an $800 consumable that needed to be replaced every 18-36 months. The new tubs no longer use this system.

@@Archifx Just a quick follow-up. I installed the Scepter this morning. This video certainly helped! The Scepter came with a simple printed instruction sheet. It wasn't hard and took about 20 minutes. The hardest part is figuring out the super annoying clips Hot Springs uses to keep the exterior cover in place. It's now up and running and generating chlorine!

i used this for my first replacement, went perfectly.. Only lasted about 1.5 years which was less than the 2 years the factory one gave me but for the price, still worth it.. Just replaced again and i am having nothing but problems, it constantly flashes yellow.. got my salt in range and it will turn green after I hit the test water button but eventually goes back.. I am going to try and clean my filters today as it was suggested elsewhere. I do not get the salt action you show in the video tho which is odd..

Great Video -just replaced my old ACE cell yesterday in my Jetsetter model JJ circa 2014 and everything works great. Bubbling noticed after I turned on Boost for 1-2 minutes and Water Care indicator in the middle of the green. The Scepter now comes with all hardware attached, so that is the only update to this video, so it's even easier! Now the question is how long will it last? I didn't see any instructions for cleaning it periodically, only the comment to reverse the plugs once a month to reverse polarity. Curious if anyone has done this, or can report how long these units last. QUESTION: Can you also run an ozone generator unit with the Scepter installed??

@@Archifx Bought it,installed it. My filter is different. One single fat one in the middle. So there isn't as much space for the scepter to float around. Should I still not put it in the center spot? Also there was no blue plug, it was like a gray plastic screw. The smokey water is coming out but not consistently.
@Archifx3 жыл бұрын
It can just float around in the filter box. No need for the blue plug. The “Smokey water” is the chlorination process happening. It won’t be all the time. It depends on the setting you choose on the control panel.
