This is one of the few songs I liked on the album. I'm surprised it wasn't chosen as a single over Tear Gas. As a fan of The Here and Now, I like Archectects slower songs. Heartburn is one of my favourite tracks by the band still to this day. I just wish they'd keep things more constant. While I loved the albums from Daybreaker to HH, the last two albums have been all over the place. Some slow, some heavyish and others sound like techno. Whatever sound they're looking for as their future, I hope they find it. I've liked these blokes since I saw them in Philadelphia way back when opening for AILD. While I haven't liked their last two efforts much, I'm hoping they'll surprise us with something fantastic again in the future.

Ironically Dan said he thought people would hate this song thus why he was hesitant to put it as a single and places it earlier in the tracklist
@WhereOceansMeeet Жыл бұрын
@@Fanrose2475 It's at least consistent. It sounds like the same song from beginning to end, it doesn't start out like a weird amalgam of dance/techno and then phase into heavy or something punkish. Even if the band made a lighter album similar to this I would likely love it because I do like music like this. No, it wouldn't be their heavier sound, but at least I'd feel like they were still trying. Their new album... Fuck me dead... Outside of this track and "When We Were Young," it almost seems like they are imposters to themselves and that there's no way the band that wrote Holy Hell is still in there anywhere. But this is just my subjective opinion. They'll do what they do regardless. I've since moved on to other bands that still put out great material, but I'll always have A's older work.
@Fanrose2475 Жыл бұрын
@@WhereOceansMeeet Lol that's not techno you're hearing it's industrial synths. The album's pretty fuckin heavy once you get used to the groove of it. The set the trademark melodies aside and focus on rythm - Be Very African is a good example of that, the riffs barely change and the tempo stays consistent. The only melody present is sam's vocals and backing synths. I know you may not appreciate it, but I think personally this album is incredibly innovative especially for a band that has its roots in traditionalist melodic metal - the entire album has so many unique elements that are exactly almost perfectly I don't think a second was wasted or fell short. Maybe just check it out another time, perhaps with a happier dancier mode
@Fanrose2475 Жыл бұрын
@@WhereOceansMeeet also if you haven't already check out The Here And Now. That's their earlier record that is alot more soft, punky and focused on melodies. It was Sam's first album written in full with the band. Ironically, that was the album that people said architects fell off + sold out and went pop. Mind you it came before Daybreaker lol, I guess the band's innovation is always controversial
