This video really shows that this kind of music is the best for describing deep, hunting feelings like loss and emptiness/longing. I think I fell in love with post-hardcore and metalcore songs because the screamo vocals seems to hit a nerve right around the heart and in the chest (like when you're scared) at the same time, while being accompanied by heavy and rythmical guitars that floats through the air and gets the songs moving. Just love this kind of music.

"Gone With The Wind" The weight of the world is resting on thin ice When the surface breaks will I find paradise? As I freeze to death, left to reflect What a waste of time I was, in retrospect I'd take a leap of faith, but I'd lose my nerve In the end, I'll get the hell that I deserve I'm always gone with the wind Crawling in and out of my mind God knows, I lost all my faith A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all? Disintegrate. Annihilate me Do you remember when you said to me “My friend, hope is a prison.” Hope is a prison Of all the patterns that I could create I built a labyrinth with no escape To keep my ‘self' under lock and key I am my own worst enemy I'd take a leap of faith, but I'd lose my nerve In the end, I'll get the hell that I deserve I'm always gone with the wind Crawling in and out of my mind God knows, I lost all my faith A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all? Disintegrate. Annihilate me A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all? Disintegrate. Annihilate me If I could silence all the doubt in me Accept that what is meant to be (Is meant to be) You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all? Disintegrate. Annihilate me I remember when you said to me “My friend, hope is a prison”

Every time I listen to this beautiful song, it speaks for me and I am just in tears… I hope Tamer is happy wherever he is now. Pain is temporary they say, I hope it is… From my soul to Tamer’s. That last "disintegrate, annihilate" is so incredibly powerful. I love how it transitions from a tonal scream into just a raw, angry, sad scream. This song is just so sad. So many metalcore songs dealing with this sort of thing have some last little "silver lining" verse or riff at the end. This song just... Doesn't. It ends on an utterly hopeless note. I know this was written about cancer, but most days I relate to this song. My mind and heart are broken and dark. I've tried every medication under the sun, and countless therapy sessions. Truly a sickness with no remedy, and I can't fight it anymore. I wish to cease to exist.

I'm listening to this song in 2021, after I fell in love with this band just after Tom died. I was going through serious shit at the time and tried to take my own life shortly before I found this band. Listening to this track post that experience enforces my will to live and to empathise with anyone who feels that the words of this song means something to them personally. Fight through it, find your will to live - even if its vicariously through people you've never met. Life is a gift, one that can be taken away at any time. This is so powerful. Iv never heard this band before i stumbled on this upload in bed on a Saturday night at 1 in the morning. Ive watched this videa 20 times so far. Like a heroin addict getting another fix. Iv never seen such power, emotion and rawness on stage like this before and im 46 years old. God bless all those lads in architects

I just recently got into Architects, my favourite band is NIN, so I love music of a high calibre, learning about what pain the band went through after losing a member has endeared me to them on a human level, I can’t wait to see them live , i’m sure it will be a cathartic gig, since I have lost close friends as well.

The amount of respect & compassion i have for these dudes just as humans is immeasurable! Nothing Sam says on stage at any show is about himself or whatnot, he always makes it a point to thank everyone that helps ARCHITECTS behind the scenes along with friends that he can think of off the top of his head and along with the crowd at every show. If it were possible I bet Sam would shake every single person's hand and say hi that are at each show. Never do I hear him say anything about himself or any of that shit...very humble and thats one of the best things about him and ARCHITECTS

Architects were truly amazing when theu came to philadelphia about 3 years ago. I think it was one of toms last shows before they got sub guitarists to fill in. It was a small venue and it made all there songs that much more impactful and meaningful and there pressence was truly larger than life. I lost all control that night and felt every emotion i had bottled up come out. Architects is truly is one of my top favorite bands to listen to and see live. I love you guys and thank you for such motivational inspirational meaningful songs that touch my soul. Rip tom

I don't know how often I already watched this video over the last years. I think this is one of their best songs... just pure and raw emotions.. and love for a lost beloved one. I think everyone who lost someone due to sickness can relate to these feelings and the lyrics. Hope is a prison...

Around 2008 my best friends played Buried at Sea while driving back home, that was the first time I heard Architects. We just had played a gig at a small little local venue. I still remember me thinking holy darn THIS BAND! it sounds so massive and unique! Ever since that moment, I've always been close to their music. Their words and message have definitely helped some of us pull though deep personal, familiar, social, politic and economic struggles. This never happened -at least to me- with any other heavy or similar band. The night I read about Tom I just could not sleep. I could not process it. The best riffs, choruses, lyrics, tappings, progressions, all enjoyable the musicianship Tom displayed was turned off. I'm glad they've been able to keep on going in his loving memory, and will ALWAYS be grateful to my friends for playing one their songs that night. /m/

When I was driving to work from a viewing of a friend that I had known since I was a toddler after he committed suicide, this song came on in my truck and helped me release the tears I had been holding in for about a week and after that I was just constantly balling the rest of the day and had this on repeat. Thank you Architects ❤️❤️
