The band we loved isn't coming back. Most we can hope for is an album anniversary show or two but after 4 boring albums and rock star status I've given up. Still wish them the best but I dont think they care how much the OG fans loved them both personality wise and musically. Im so happy I saw them twice pre 2010. Saw them headline an old convenience store turned venue touring Horizons Jan 08'. Amazing show.

In what universe would people think you were taking the piss? You came up in the scene as a local metalcore band who loved surfing, even had a whole music video about surfing. You've done the big stage sets with fire/weird bulletproof vests recently, and now you're going back to your roots for a single show, because it's a secret slot and a one off, how would that ever be seen as taking the piss? This is very telling. Winston putting a damper on the idea of the wetsuits is a big metaphor for how the band is now. I became a fan of 5 guys that didn't take themselves too seriously and played kick ass music. Now they play mediocre music and Winston wears combat boots and bulletproof vest in a non comedic way. Get back to your roots boys, both performance wise and more important musically. The old school fans are dying for it.

That's your opinion, I was in my 20's when killing with a smile was released and heard them on JJJ and went and bought the CD, I loved every album and still do, if you can't handle some of their songs having some slower sections and some singing than that's pretty fucking narrow minded musically and pretty boring, they weren't better then, they are better musicians and performers now and highly professional, if you don't like it any more well that's your opinion and your bad luck, it's got nothing to do with them not being any good

I totally get where Winston is coming from, I can understand it and relate to it but I disagree with the final outcome. I think it would have been MEGA for Parkway to have played a show, pretty much how they used to. I personally really miss that fun side of the band. For what its worth, Motionless in white has recently taken a step back from the huge productions and makeup/costumes, and the overall expression online is that Chris looks happy and healthier. I was in a group of people with 0 interest in seeing Parkway Drive at download. The wetsuits would've been something people were talking about and we would've gone to check it out. Fun is what everyone wants at a festival like Download. It would've made a much bigger impact and made the band stand out. Whats more annoying is then the man looked a prat himself anyway.

The best thing this band can do for their success imo is to have fun with it the same way they used to. big budgets are cool but that was never what this band was about or what brought it to where it is today. There is something cool and unique about a bunch of aussie surfers in a shredding metalcore band. arguably it was your unique selling point. the fun loving, care free attitude came through in your performances and enticed a lot of new fans in. If parkway ever decide to be themselves again and fuck what the promotors and investors tell them they should dress like, I'll be there for it every damn time because man do i miss that band.

Been going to Download since 2005 and I can tell you Winston is worried about nothing. I mean I respect how and why he was worried about it, he wants to show maximum respect, but he doesn't know the DL audience. The crowd only wants to see the band and see them having a great time. The whole "prestige" of DL is overblown. It's just a big party. :)
