This song gave me the last push to change jobs. I was working for the same company for 8 years and never really felt like I was happy, like I was accomplished or that I'm being compensated properly for my valuable time. I was stuck deep in the comfort zone while I should have been moving mountains. Now I'm at a new job and I love it, it's an all around improvement. This song gave me the last push that I needed to go find a new job and finally quit the old one.

This song makes alot more sense with the video. The world is literally about to end, but amidst the panic, this guy is just weaving through the crowd trying to get his drugs, completely blind to the apocalypse. He's blind to the apocalypse, but also Architects are not pointing at him making him the villain. Quite the opposite... he is lonely, left behind. He is representing how most people are just barely getting by dealing with their own issues (mental health, the apathy and pointlessness of the modern world, etc.), which makes it almost impossible to be able to deal with the immense responsibility of saving the planet on top of this. Dan has talked about this and that he also counts himself as someone who could do more for the environment but the pressure of just dealing with his own problems is too overwhelming.
@jakesetnikvox21063 жыл бұрын
@@Bajannez ya I agree, the drugs he's taking are more like his coping mechanism.
@Bajannez3 жыл бұрын
@@jakesetnikvox2106 Yeah! And my guess is that the colorful middle section of the video is relating to the "I'm nothing but the surface"-lyric. That there is a deeper substrate beneath the base layer of our existence. I know Dan has said that we're just souls trapped in flesh suits. So maybe that's some sort of consolation in these somewhat apocalyptic times. That realization helps the lead character separate himself from the despair of everything and he can actually face the apocalypse.

This is such a powerful symbolism for my struggle with addiction. " I'm standing beneath the meteor "(looking at this beast of addiction) "disasters breaking down my door" (knowing it was gonna kill me, if I didn't stop) "I should be moving mtns, the arrow buckles in the bow" (nothing was going to work for me if I didnt straighten up) "they said it's time to go to war, yeah ive heard it all before " (friends/fam kept telling me to face it, and fight for my life- i just hadnt been ready to put it down before) "I should be moving mtns, but im like fire in the snow" ( didn't have anything to show for my 30+yrs, except all of this untapped potential that everyone could see but me). "Another God on the radio, says we're stuck in a tailspin" (acquaintances always had something negative to say, ab how I'd never pull it off). HOWEVER- I made that decision to face my meteor in 2013. Stuck with the program for 7 years, and finally graduated it in 2020- completely clean & sober from that day 4+ yrs ago!!! Id lost it ALL, all those years ago, and didn't understand why I went through HELL...until I'd reached the other side of the fire years later. It made me into the person I am today, and although it wasn't a walk in the park- I MADE IT OUT before my own meteor destroyed me. I moved those mountains, and let my fire inside rage. I WON!! I saw the Architects play this live earlier this year in Nashville- and it was a full circle moment of realization for me...with tears in my eyes, and chills throughout my body- I knew I'd conquered a meteor that was meant to destroy me. If you are struggling rn, YOU TOO CAN MAKE IT OUT ALIVE!!! I promise you can! ❤

Lyrics Verse 1] This should be heavenly, heavenly Is there no remedy, remedy? 'Cause I've been Baring blunt teeth I'm breathing heavily, heavily I see a legacy, legacy that's sinking Oh, it beggars belief [Chorus] I'm standing beneath the meteor Disaster's breaking down my door I should be moving mountains The arrow buckles in the bow They said it's time to go to war Yeah, I've heard it all before I should be moving mountains But I'm like fire in the snow [Verse 2] Bathing in gasoline, gasoline Living in quarantine, quarantine, it's colder In the furnace Nobody's evergreen, evergreen Stare at the murder scene, murder scene and focus On nothing but the surface Chorus] I'm standing beneath the meteor Disaster's breaking down my door I should be moving mountains The arrow buckles in the bow They said it's time to go to war Yeah, I've heard it all before I should be moving mountains But I'm like fire in the, a fire in the [Post-Chorus] Snow, snow, snow, snow [Bridge] Another god on the radio Says we're stuck in a tailspin The pilots have vertigo, they're lost in the undertow The arrow buckles in the bow They said we pushed the last domino before the apocalypse We've all got a stone to throw, why? I will never know Yeah, we're like fire in the, a fire in the snow [Interlude] Whoa-oh-oh, whoa Whoa-oh-oh, whoa Whoa-oh-oh, whoa Chorus] I'm standing beneath the meteor (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) Disaster's breaking down my door (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) I should be moving mountains (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) (I should be moving mountains) The arrow buckles in the bow (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) They said, "It's time to go to war" (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) Yeah, I've heard it all before (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) I should be moving mountains (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa) But I'm like fire in the, a fire in the snow (Whoa-oh-oh, whoa)

The message behind this song and even this album is so eye opening. Turning a blind eye to the apocalypse that looms over the horizon just because we want to chase a high. It’s like architects finally have had it with people not grasping the warnings they put into their music and this album feels like they are saying “the apocalypse has finally come no choice now but to embrace it”.

The part where the MC steps through the portal and is blasting through dimensions (my guess) is pretty reminiscent of the Doomsday video, when Tom gets pulled into the cosmos. I see Tom in everything Architects does, but also growth and maturity in it all. Each thing I hear from them is just another sprout on the tree that grew from Tom's back.

It's a whole different experience hearing the song whilst watching the video. I've goosebumps. This reminds me of old Linkin Park, the style of the video, breaking the habit anyone? Pure brilliance. Smashing it guys!

the clip reminded me of the movie "Equilibrium", the work was done very well (I express my respect to the artist). As for the music, well, it can't be compared with the old works, of course, but to say that it doesn't get any worse. If Аrchitects want to go in this direction, it is their will. I am glad that they continue to engage in creative work. I wish them good health in this difficult year. 🖤
