Real fans still respect the band mates. Doesn’t mean they have to like everything they put out especially when they abandon their roots. Not even hating on Architects at all, as an old fan I’m very happy to see them finally getting the recognition they deserve. However the new sounds, in my opinion, doesn’t hold up to any of their previous work. Still respect them, just don’t listen anymore
@Fanrose2475 Жыл бұрын
@@someguyguitar8601 tbh I disagree. This album is obviously not a metalcore album so people are gonna get turned off anyways. However, isn't it impressive how effortlessly they completely shifted subgenres and made it sound good? Like there are a lot more elements being used in this album than the previous ones: synths, programmed drums/clicks, industrial riffs, beat drops, grooves, cleans etc. And yeah a lot of these existed but they were always supplementary assets for the straightforward metalcore sound - now they're front and centre and it's executed so well. I think they deserve some respect for not doing what other metal bands do which is just release a "softer" version of their best songs, 4 slow acoustic songs and then 1 good heavy song but it's just a shitty rip off. These guys made a genuine effort to change and the quality of the product is (personally for me) probably in the top 5 best albums.

Top 3 contenders of “who wants to finally make more money now that there fan base is big enough to survive a genre change before exploding and filling their pockets with the sweet reward of mainstream rock money” In all seriousness, who can blame any rock band? It’s so incredibly hard to make it in a sub genre of metal, and even if you do a lot of bands can more than 10 years without having to quit due to not getting enough money… it either requires non stop touring or recording, or a top 5 sized fanbase in your sub genre, which is so unrealistic. I will never criticize bands for trying to get more money because that’s what we all do at our jobs.

Do you really want a band to continue making sounds they don’t even want to do? People grow and change. If you don’t like this sound, go and listen to their old stuff. “Metalcore shouldn’t be popular” is the most tone deaf saying I’ve ever heard. By allowing bands to spread their wings and recruit a wider audiecne, more people will listen to their previous works and bring new eyes to the scene. That’s what we’d all love. It’s just so disrespectful to bash a band got putting something out that diverts from their first few albums. Not to mention when a select few bring Tom into it say disrespectful things of “Tom would be disappointed” or whatever. If you don’t like then that’s fine but some people need to stop being so disrespectful towards bands all because they change their style and it’s not putting out the same material from their earlier albums over and over again. Much of the comments I’ve seen people have been at least respectful. Then there’s some that just say nasty things to them. Totally uncalled for. I was pleasantly surprised that this was the Architects! When I first heard it screaming out of the radio , I thought it sounded a cross between Linkin Park and BMTH. But well done guys for the change up.

I agree, I really like this song but it just doesn't have the same Architects distinctiveness the singles from their past albums have had. Knowing what they're capable of, it is slightly disappointing but I'm still holding out hope for the full album.

The band just jamming it out in the hallway, with segments of them all together is a highlight of this video. But also, Sam just straight punching the air is wild as all hell, but I love it.

Architects was one of my top 3 bands. Now I don't know. They can do what they want, but this just isn't what I fell in love with. Much love, hoping for even just a couple old style tracks on this new album

This makes me so sad. I hope that this is honestly the music the lads want to be making. I hope they are feeling passionate and fulfilled, and I hope it makes them the money it takes to support their families... But yeah, this isn't ticking my boxes anymore, and that's OK. I shall cherish the fact that I was there during their early days, going to their shows in The Haunt and Concorde, the release shows and signings, etc. I know I can't go back, but I'm very glad I made the most of it back then.
@stangsrule012 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%! This is hard to listen to… I always hope they are successful, but I can’t do this at all! Honestly, it’s not good at all. Hurts me to say it because I am a huge fan. But, this is sad indeed.

If you'd stop comparing it to their older stuff, you would enjoy it more

@@misfitmaik6213 if you have to divorce an album from it's artist or their previous work to enjoy it then something has gone wrong. And to be clear - I didn't want them to just keep remaking Hollow Crown, evolution is expected and its fine, it's just that the guys have evolved the and and their sound in a direction that doesn't suit my taste and in music. That's fine. Their music isn't for me anymore. It's for a new audience, or at least an audience that changed in the same way they did. I don't begrudge it. I'm simply stating my opinion is all. No hate to them at all.
