I’m so happy I found your channel. Thanks to Simon of course making a video of his visit with you. Just with this video alone you have taught me so much.

In 1969 when I was 18 I worked the summer at Jugtown pottery in Seagrove . Thats where I first heard Clarence Ashley's Music with Fred Price and the gang . I do love that music so much . Working in NC with a Welsh Pottery family and then going to Wales really woke me up to traditional craft and music. All the best , Guy

Im glad these little films have been useful . I do love throwing and its a lot of years so its a blast sharing . I had a look at Brad's site. He seems to have a great place and makes beautiful pots and has his family around him . A good guitar.. You cant ask for much more .If he lived closer I would ask to join his band.. . All the best , Guy

Is your inside hand finger placement in the center of the outward bulge in the pot?
@danm399611 жыл бұрын
Guy. When you get a chance, can you show have you center and do your first pull. It takes me a few pulls to do what you do in one pull
@guywolff11 жыл бұрын
Most everything you need is here .. Centering happens when you give the clay a command and keep your command steady for a whole rotation. In this one I coned up one time :when I came back down the clay was on center . That first "Knuckling in" happens directly from the ring that was in that centering move

Two inches apart for the first pull on a 6 pounder but the hands could be 6 inches apart for the first pull on a 60 pounder ..
