The frequency response graph is the measurement result in my recording system, I think I’d show it although it’s not exactly the same as what we hear with our ears. But by comparing other Demos on this channel, we can still find some RELATIVE differences. I will also continue to improve my recording methods. Hope you enjoy these Demos.

Listened to this with a PC > Gustard R26 > Shiit Mjolnir 3 > Hart balanced cable > HD660 S2. I can say that my 660s2 do not have that veil that is presented in this video. I also will say that I find my HD6xx are un-listenable (harsh highs for my old ears) after receiving my 660s2. I think these videos are fantastic! Thanks for putting these together!

if you think the 650 have harsh highs but think the 660 are acceptable then you might be deaf. The 660 are _objectively_ far rougher in the upper frequencies, and the 650 is one of the smoothest, most tonally accurate headphones every produced. Burst decay plots show _horrendous_ overshoot and ringing between 4-5kHz on the 660, and it is _very_ obvious if you have any idea what you're listening to. it's egregiously bad, bordering on unlistenable.

I know it can be adjusted with EQ, but I prefer the 660S2 for the darker sound with this selection of music. Better width as well.

Instruments sound more bodied and textured on the 600 to me, 660S2 sounds smoothened out...soundstage seems wider on the 660S2. Tough choice for me, to be honest. Thank you for the comparison!

hd660s2 just have more High FR an 6khz and one more peak at 8.6khz. that not healthy frequency bro. Look at RAW RF at RTINGS. Better to buy old gold standatr hd600

The HD 660 S2 sounds with more glue. The HD600 separates the voice from the instruments and has a lack of bass and sub-bass, but both headphones are very good!!!

Hi, I love all 6 series, I think which one is best depends on personal taste and Ear Gain, for me it's 600, I would just add a little bit of bass via EQ.

This is very, very subjective and only you can decide what you will prefer. I'd suggest listening to this video over and over with a good set of ear/headphones until you start to realize which you actually gravitate towards more. They do sound quite different, when listening with decent earphones.

I go for the S2 cuz of lack of bass in the 600 I have the HD580 and I read in some sites the HD600/580 have the same driver

I didn't hear a lack of bass at all, I heard a pair of headphones with almost perfect sound, that apparently have zero bass but have absolutely perfect bass, that came out in 1997, blow away the pair that are double the price. I thought that 90% of the time the 600s totally outshone the 660s2... and I really wasn't expecting to say that because I've got the 660s2 in my amazon basket about to check out! Luckily I did some last minute research! Listen again to the precision and quantity of bass on 600s, its near perfection. I'll admit certain vocals sounded a little better on 660s2, like Adele at the end there but I'm honestly shocked at how good the 600s are, didn't see that coming! Save yourself £200 or €220/ $ or whatever you're on, get the 600s and just add a touch of 60/ 63 Hz and you'll be able to buy 2 pairs 😂

@@jamieharper2554 Thanks for feedback I mean, I have the HD580 and HD58X Jubilee and is true, they have a good bass but sometimes the sub bass (5Hz-15Hz) cause a little distortion because the rest of 600s just have the limit to 12hz, and that what happens, some song hear like incomplete. Meanwhile the S2 have a lil bit small driver of 38mm and frequency response 8Hz-41Khz. That’s means I can go for the sub bass without problems or sub bass more present I think each HD600’s series sounds really good but each HD600’s have specific moments to enjoy. HD580/HD600 for neutral and vocals, HD650/HD6XX for warmer songs, HD660s is more brilliant, but all have some in common, sometimes the have hissing sound at max volume. And the S2 have a reduce in that, making it better for work long time with treble or sharp sounds

580 is to old now. thay diffusor is almost dead. if u look closer it change color. i was own rare pare 580 too buy sold em too bcz of brownish diffusor and bad sound. Try novadays HD600.

You can skip to Sound 7 and Sound 8 and HD 600 sound much better in both. Adele sounds more natural with HD 600 and for Sound 8, HD 660S2 do not sound good at all when multiple instruments are simultaneously played.

I have all HD6 line i love them all. HD600 are the Vocal kings, HD650 the smoothness Kings and 660s2 are technically the best of them all, speed, separation, clarity, soundstage , is way better on 660s2.

Oof, I absolutely cannot get over that upper midrange/low treble roughness on the 660. What was Sennheiser thinking? The 150 ohm driver is a very obvious downgrade from the original 300 ohm driver. Is it the same one they used in that piece of shit HD700?

The 660S2 is 300 ohms and definitely has better technicalities. Preference of tuning is another thing.
