This seems like another world. It's impossible to imagine a programme like this being made today - least of all by the BBC. What happened?

doctorfoster1968: I'm not sure what you mean. As far as I am aware, the BBC still broadcasts Songs of Praise and other programmes similar to this.

BBC One still broadcasts live church ceremonies on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday and Pentecost Sunday. They still produce Songs of Praise which airs throughout the year in a lunchtime slot on BBC One. Thought for the Day and Pause for Thought still airs on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 2. BBC Radio 2 still produces a religious Sunday morning show, along with special programming for Christmas and Easter. Nothing has changed.

I miss the 90s! They were much simpler, more laid back and generally more pleasant times. However, that's just my opinion. I used to watch Songs of Praise with my late grandmother. This reminded me of her and my youth, but also the church worship/culture I used to love so much. It's such a shame things have changed in such negative ways. Anyway, thank you for this! God bless.
