I religiously was using Hot Shots Secret EDT and diesel extreme twice a year. My 2018 Ram 2500 was going into regen from 150 miles to 230 miles. I use it on long distance travels and rarely in the city. I thought I’d give archoil a shot. I first used the cleaner you are speaking of and it seems to have helped so far. Today was the first day I used the archoil similar to edt since I’m headed to San Antonio this Tuesday. I hoping it helps with my frequent regens. I might go back to hot shots depending on the regens. Thank you for the info you’ve put out.

Biggest issue is the variances in fuels from brand to brand due to the additives put in at the refineries when loaded for each brand. Then there are differences between fuel depending on different areas around the country. Not to mention the variety of fuel tanks, pumps and filters at stations, all of which require maintenance. Poor maintenance practices, poor delivery equipment and practices all play a part in the end product.

Every vehicle is different too. What might be a "perfect" blend for one might not be so good for another. All I can say is we've used Archoil for years and have far less issues with our vehicles than we did before. This guy's testimony seems to be based on little more than a few promotional photos.

@@repairvehicle I'm still learning, but I do oil changes every 15k (still looking for oil I’m comfortable with to go longer, truck holds 46 quarts), fuel filters 10k, no idling, and if I have to keep the RPMs up to keep soot build-up at bay. Triple treat my fuel where it’s 10 degrees or less, proper warm-up, especially under a load (oil must be 150 degrees before pulling when under a load). I can gross 84-86k permitted year around. Adding lubricity back in the diesel (I think the sleeves like it), injector cleaner 5-6k (I pour the injector cleaner directly on the first fuel filter, a see-through one). Also, when I'm home for the weekend or week, I force regen, or ash the soot to 0% percent before leaving the truck. I don't like wet soot sitting for a long time. Change the CCV (crankcase ventilation filter, clean the soot from egr cooler, every 160-180k). And anything that causes a vacuum, I try to change it.

Cummins is recommending Diesel Kleen to lubricate the CP4 high pressure fuel pump on their 2019 and 2020 Cummins engines. What is your opinion about Diesel Kleen?
@repairvehicle2 жыл бұрын
I just checked ram owners manual online and it has zero information about recommending Addives for lubricity. It only recommends mopar for anti gell. Kleen website has absolutely zero information about how much it adds lubricity. Does it adds any, if it does how much? I am not convinced that Kleen adds lubricity. Any honest company will provide lubricity numbers on their website. Any company that provide numbers as a proof that their products works, I will keep buying their products. Any company that claims that their products works without providing proof, I will never purchase their products. Even if cummins recommended Kleen, I would not use kleen with their recommendation. Same cummins gave approval to use garbage cp4 pump knowingly the cp4 bad reputation .
@46fd042 жыл бұрын
@@repairvehicle Very good points. I appreciate you taking the time to educate all of us. To be fair to Cummins, it may have been a RAM decision to use the CP4, to save weight and save $. RAM owns the rights to this engine, not Cummins. Cummins may have told RAM it was a bad idea, and RAM did it anyways. I don't think we will ever know the true story.

I have a 2000 ford f250 with a 7.3l powerstroke and its sitting around 300k miles right now. Im just looking to get the longest life out of my injectors
@repairvehicle2 жыл бұрын
Nice Truck! 7.3 is very good motor. For you to get longest life out of injectors, requires two things. Fuel additive is one of them. As you probably know, your fuel is not pressurized by the fuel pump, but by high pressure engine oil. Life of your injectors depends on clean lubricated fuel, fuel additives is a must. Also, clean oil is what keeps injectors firing and pressurizing fuel. Having clean oil and quality oil is one of the items that is needed for injectors to be trouble free on the long run. My recommendation is to use one of these fuel additives. These are two top diesel fuel additives to use: Everyday diesel amzn.to/3yNMZkY Diesel All bit.ly/3eX55oT Which one is the best one, both are good and work as formulated. However, cetane and lubricity numbers different between two products, final research results will be covered in another video.

Using ELC rated coolant and also upgraded to all aluminum radiator. I've always used synthetic oil and OEM fuel/oil filters every 6k miles. Had to replace injectors in 2018 and last month had #5 injector solenoid fail, I replaced the solenoid only since the reman Motorcraft injectors only have 3k miles on them at best.
