This really is, or at least should be, the standard to which all other reviews are measured against. So much more thorough and in depth than your average YT review. I really appreciated that, especially on this gun, because it’s going to be the first 9mm pistol I own, as I am usually a .45 guy. When you press the mag release and get that click, can you extract the magazine manually? If so, this may be the reason -- to give you a choice of a combat style mag retention type reloading, or game style where the mag is thrown away for speed.

That sear design is clever. Instead of requiring space to fall, it sidesteps the striker. The triple nested recoil spring system also saves space, allowing them to move the trigger mechanism upwards.

Interesting gun. While that little trick with the magazine catch is certainly a nice piece of engineering, I think it is out of place on a defensive handgun. I know people are going to whine that I'm thinking too tacticool, but the fact remains that under stress, or maybe even in a competition, it's not unthinkable that you might accidentally insert a magazine backwards for a split-second, before you realize what you are doing and lose your entire magazine catch, that's converting your pistol into a single-shot weapon. Maybe this is not the end of the world for a concealed carrier who's only going to have one magazine anyway - though I would argue it's still an unnecessary risk - but certainly for police or security or other duty use, it seems like it could be a real hazard.

Back in 2016 I *badly* wanted to pick up a little known gun called the Arsenal Stryk A and B when it was first released. Due to import/export BS, Arsenal had to change the name to Archon just to get it into the US, and (if I can remember correctly) I believe there were some design changes as well? Suffice it to say, I hate that I couldn’t snatch up an Arsenal Stryk A-B!! Now the Archon is here, and I find $800 to be a bit high. Jeez I can’t seem to win...... Great Tabletop as usual Dan. Speaking of Geco, have you seen their Hexagon 124gr JHP yet? It’s worth the look if you get a chance.

You may not believe this, but the amount of recoil you feel is 100% determined by three factors only. (1) the weight of the bullet (2) the energy created by the burning of the powder (3) the weight of the firearm.. Newton's 2nd law of motion.. You can slow down the rate of motion of the slide with springs, but every bit of that energy is still ending up in the frame, and therefore your hand, and it all happens in a few milliseconds. The only way, aside from ammo choice, that recoil can be "managed" is by increasing the mass of the firearm itself. This also has the added benefit of increasing the amount of inertia that the bullet "feels". Heavier gun means faster bullet. If you don't like heavy recoil, get a heavier pistol or a lighter bullet.
@protectiverailroaddad75415 жыл бұрын
Cool gun and I like everything about it, but I don’t know how I feel about that mag release falling out when the mag is inserted backwards although by design. Not that any of us would ever do that in a stressful situation because of our rigorous training and supreme gun handling skills, but it’s kind of a potential problem for some people. I’m in the camp that tries to limit Murphy’s Law. However this is an extremely well made handgun
