thanks for this series! how do you zoom in with using that small temporary window? you said Z right? that doesn't work for me :( and how did you zoom orthogonaly onto the working plane at 11:10?

You can also program option-center mouse button.

Hello everyone! When I use the shell solid tool on the roof, the two sides of the roof created don't meet at the ridge. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you!
@archoncad Жыл бұрын
The shell is created perpendicular to the roof plane, you have to edit the ridge after the shell to remove the gap, I use the Taper Face to do that.

Hi guys, I'm trying to make the roof angle but for some reason, I can't get it to snap to angles (even with the snap to angles option turned on) and I also can't get it to snap to a midpoint. Does anyone know the reason for this? Edit: I found out that to snap to a midpoint I need to turn on smart point on the snaping options :) (The reason why my lines won't snap to angles still remains unknown)

Have you checked the settings on the Angle Snaps?

Every time I try to give my roof thickness, an error notification prompts at the right bottom of my screen That says "Shell creation Failed". Please can anyone help me to correct the problem? Thanks

try changing the shell thickness, make it smaller.

@@archoncad Thanks for the solution, but i found another way to solve the issue. After extracting the roof area, make the roof plane a 3d polygon and then use the shell tool. That's what worked for me! I really appreciate your response to my comment.

@@juniorlouis-jean2488 There are always other ways to do things. Try the Extract Tool on the roof to get the 3D polygon, it will speed you up.

Can anyone help me? My building casts a shadow that seems to be below the surface grid. I tried to add a polygon on the "ground" grid but the shadow will not cast on the surface of the polygon "ground".
@archoncad5 жыл бұрын
Robert Dodds check your OpenGL settings. If you have turned on the shadows, you may have chosen “on ground only”
