Now that you said that i remember i was really wondering few days ago how will sound metal music for 20,30 years, while i have good chance to still be alive. I am 40 now and exactly when i was born , metal just started to be a distinct genre, not just another word for hard rock bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, AC-DC , there were Iron Maiden and other NWOBHM bands, Judas Priest at that time made heavy metal albums like British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance, Venom was the most shocking band at that time, and very soon there were many genres-speed, power, thrash and little later doom, death, black

Its so sad that we no longer get new necrophagist or spawn of possession, but thank fuck we still get technical supremacy with archspire. Hats off to you crazy bastards. You’ve created yet another masterpiece.

sorry man, but i don't inderstand how a most people like necrophagist. i dont hate it, but if we compare SoP and Nec, firts on another level. for example if we take "cabinet"(because noctambulant and incurso...its too hard for necr u know :D)and 2 necr albums(epitaph and OoP), the "cabinet" will be above them two(IMO). Sorry, I just want to say that I don't quite understand why people put these 2 completely different in the level of the group and often mention necrophagist as something incredible, although their work is not even close to the level of spawn of possession. You can listen to their songs and enjoy them as the whole piece but at the same time, when you are focusing on one instrument/vocals only, you can beautifully separate it(in your head) from the rest of the band and enjoying it on another level of the song. I suffer from Lyme disease and I get terrible joint pain and itching all over. Tech death has some weird numbing effect on the symptoms and Archspire is like a cure. The pain and itching literally goes away when I listen to the music. Literally! So I told my friend about this, who suffers from psoriasis. He said the itching went away listening to Archspire. You’re making medicine here js. I listen to a lot of different genres but no music has had the ability to actually make the symptoms go away. Alien magic?
@divinefallfromgrace2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting!! Tbh I'd love to see if there's solid science behind this- like, for example, the Endorphins/Dopamine released by your listening pleasure are relieving your physical symptoms somehow. Not sure about Lyme Disease, but Psoriasis is worsened by Stress- maybe your friend is so de-stressed by the music it's helping physically? Fascinating nonetheless, sorry for ranting. 😉

Production is clean as fuck and it sounds amazing. With tech-death I want to be able to hear all the notes blasting my brains out instead of muddy bullshit.

Never experienced Archspire before, but this is genuinely one of the best metal albums I've heard since I started listening to metal 15 years ago. Sheesh. So well-rounded, incredibly densely mixed. A genuine achievement as far as I'm concerned.

Lacrimosa...crafty, Archspire. Crafty. And people are baffled when I say I listen to classical and metal. Amazing song written around that progression (and the whole album obviously). Keep it coming.

Relentless Mutation changed my life, and I have waited 4 long years for this, with enormous expectations. You guys have surpassed them by 1000 fold!!! I cannot see how anyone will bother making tech death after this. I can hardly listen to anything else now. This should go down in the annals of history as a milestone in human achievement. You should all be so fucking proud! I thank you all profoundly and profusely from the bottom of my heart and soul. Now if only you would add Australia to your tour dates!

This album is up there with Ghost Reveries by Opeth in terms of technicality, musicality, and how many times I’ve listened to the whole album nonstop. I’d call this your magnum opus but that would imply you’ve already peaked!
