Now that you said that i remember i was really wondering few days ago how will sound metal music for 20,30 years, while i have good chance to still be alive. I am 40 now and exactly when i was born , metal just started to be a distinct genre, not just another word for hard rock bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, AC-DC , there were Iron Maiden and other NWOBHM bands, Judas Priest at that time made heavy metal albums like British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance, Venom was the most shocking band at that time, and very soon there were many genres-speed, power, thrash and little later doom, death, black

Its so sad that we no longer get new necrophagist or spawn of possession, but thank fuck we still get technical supremacy with archspire. There is this thing about Archspire. You can listen to their songs and enjoy them as the whole piece but at the same time, when you are focusing on one instrument/vocals only, you can beautifully separate it(in your head) from the rest of the band and enjoying it on another level of the song. Exactly. They became my favorite band in 2018 with Relentless Mutation. I remember seeing the CD album in Newbury Comics back in 2017 when I was buying some stuff, but I never knew what they were about, but I ended up buying Converge's The Dusk In Us album instead. Then I found them in 2017, and realized..that I should have gotten the Relentless Mutation album.. anyways.. I've been a metalhead for 12 years didn't know about their first album in 2011 until 2018.. it's been 4 years, and now I'm so stoked! Hopefully you enjoy the album as well.

I have secret for you: you will start to say that every upcoming album you want to hear is AOTY. I did it with Gojira, Slaughter to Prevail and Trivium

Archspire, First Fragment and Ophidian I have set the bar so fucking high this year. I chuckle at the people who say no one is doing anything new or exciting in metal.

Time is going so slow until the release, but the songs will be so fast. Perfect balance.

Never experienced Archspire before, but this is genuinely one of the best metal albums I've heard since I started listening to metal 15 years ago. Sheesh. So well-rounded, incredibly densely mixed. A genuine achievement as far as I'm concerned.

I'm digging the added prevalence of chugging riffs going on with this release, great balance of tech destruction and head-smashing chugs.

I have to admit something. About two months ago a guy from my local record store recommended Archspire to me, and the first time I listened to their previous album, I burst out laughing. Not because it was silly, but because it was something completely new and weird (in a good way). It sounded like if the aliens from the movie Arrival, being able to simultaneously see and live the past, present and the future, were summoning riffs from their entire lifeline in the speed of light. Cool stuff!

This is unnecessarily good. Yall could have made this 70% as good as it turned out and it still would have been a masterpiece.
