@@misanthropicservitorofmars2116 tbf, I homebrewed a necron lord that made a habit of combining human flesh with their necrodermis bodies to end up as something vaguely like necron bionicles. They lived near Medusa so interrogation of the humans that dared to colonize one of their worlds led to them learning about Ferrus Manus, and that necrodermis can graft to human tissue, so they decided to go for their own take on biotransference, or at least hybridization in such a way they don't render themselves vulnerable to the myriad threats of the grimdark future. I would like to mention that Catachan is one of the few planets in the galaxy of 40k that does not need to worry overmuch about daemonic incursions. I've come to the belief that such things are necessary, as humans without such threats (or at least a static philosophy maintaining such an outlook) grow decadent, reliant on artifical systems used to ensure their comfort, and thus prey or even willing supplicants to tyrants. The other week, I was looking at a wiki to see what other info is there about Barbarus besides what I read in a novel. And I was flabbergasted by the fact that it's apparently not classified as a death world. The planet where virtually everything that grows there is poisonous, where the air itself gets too toxic even for primarchs if you travel high enough, plus during nighttime the air turns toxic even in valleys, and the planet was infested with some sentient xeno chaos creatures that hunted humans for the lulz, until Mortarion exterminated them. That was not deadly enough, I suppose.

Never understood why Nostramo was not considered a Death World while Caliban was. The only problem with Caliban was the Beasts, which were just not that big a problem. Most of them weren't as dangerous as a dragon in other settings, and the planet itself was basically just medieval Europe. Nostramo was a perpetually dark hive complex with terrible pollution, a crust made of adamantium, and a populace that routinely ate one another out of desperation.

More like a small creature about the size of a cat that when scared (and it scares easily) realises the most dangerous toxic cloud in the galaxy it’s so dangerous it renders power amour worthless and kill a space marine in seconds plus even plague marines are not immune it only kills them in a minute instead of seconds

It's a small toad that when panicked, explodes in an acidic cloud that can reach a few kilometers with enough potency to melt through Astartes Power Armor.

i wanna say one thing the biggest problem with lore.. is the fact the barking toads are not merely gathered up and dropped like bombs SMH
@davidowen1506
@davidowen1506 Жыл бұрын
You can’t capture a barking toad is the problem. If it is in anyway threatened it explodes and nothing the imperium (or the greater galaxy for that matter) has can contain it. It melts through power armor.

But lord arch, a krak grenade bouquet in the tomatoes would be a way to either, 1. Teach the megs herbivores NOT to eat that kind of plant or 2. Put meat on the menu for a good long while.

Correct me if I’m wrong isn’t there a world that became a death world because the governors xeno animal menagerie got loose and interbred with each other out in the wild resulting in extremely invasive and hostile xenofauna.

Moss and lichen are edible and can grow in arctic regions. Kelp and similar from the ocean. Reindeer herding, and careful hunting/herding of wild animals that are semi-domesticated over generations of hunting. Its not easy but its possible.

I like to play a game, where I score points based on spotting people whose only 40k knowledge is a mix of TTS and AdRic. It's kind of like shooting parrots. They're easy to spot and repeat everything they hear as though they had independent thoughts of their own.

What I really want to see from Arch is a video about the mysterious places of the Warhammer World that have practically no lore or very little lore. The Lost Isles of Elythis (Warhammer Australia) and their High Elf colonies, the Hinterlands of Khuresh with the Lost City of the Old Ones located in it and the mysterious Snakemen living there, the Ancient City of Quintex in the middle of Naggaroth, the Southern Chaos Wastes and the Beastfiends inhabiting them and the Gates of Calith. Come on Arch, listening to you speculating about these places would be more interesting than any lore GW might write about them if they touch these places in the Old World. When it is released at some point in the next century...

Ironically a lot of Death worlds could actually be called Life worlds. It's just that the abundant lifeforms that inhabit said planet aren't necessarily... docile.
