ArcoLinux Now Offers DT's Qtile Config

It has come to my attention that ArcoLinux now packages my Qtile config as an alternative to their own Qtile config. Today, I'm going to install ArcoLinuxB Qtile in a VM and then install 'arcolinux-qtile-distrotube-git' and play around a bit.

After re-watching a few older videos by you and a few others I just tried installing ArcoLinux a few times earlier today using multiple different ISOs and it refreshed my memory of my past experience with the distro. I had pretty much the same experience I remember having a few years ago when I tried it. Online installation with manual selections always fails, package management problems of various types (including server not found, dependency problems, etc.), and other problems. I seriously don't get all the fascination with this distro and the praise that it gets. Every time I attempt to install it it's another set of problems, and even vanilla Arch tends to give me fewer issues. I'd honestly consider it buggy garbage, and one of the buggiest distros I've ever used.

This was my experience as well. I wanted to like Arco because Eric (the dev) seems like a great guy who publishes some excellent KZbin tutorials. But it has always broken on my hardware within a week or two-usually something to do with updates failing. Vanilla Arch and Endeavour have different problems I’ve had to fix, but those have been few and far between.

I seen this yesteray moving /home over to a cschyos distro hop. *Arco/Erik is a mad man!* Also: wish I could afford a TR with lack of hours. i3 here lmao. his dots, even without Wayland, are top notch. Keybinds, shcripts - everything. Always my top pacconf repo. Writing a script to scrape the wiki for repos currently but don't know bash. 😊 I just hate Python so qtile (whidh i WANT to uee over that ahw on Hyprland!) makes me cry. Long live the kings, hear hear!

Hey DT, what happened to locate, slocate, locatedb, etc? 15 years ago those used to be set up by default on linux, now they aren't and I hardly ever hear about the locate command. why did it fall out of fashion?

You should explore qtile's wayland implementation. It is not that much buggy.

You should stick on xorg until wayland is ready to migrate to - in about 20 years.

@@derrekvanee4567KDE is the buggiest DE on linux so comparing something to it is really bad. GNOME and xfce run smooth and without a single hitch. Window managers are also not buggy at all except for qtile and the wayland ones.

downloaded and installed the dtOS however I am not linux pro as you are, and the key map for trq keyboard is not available. Not all of your subscripbers and followers using english keyboard. Please add other keyboard maps too. I may became full time DTOS user. Please add the other keymaps.

Open terminal and writte: setxkbmap trq
