I went to Coachella like 15 years ago and thought that I wanted the whole Woodstock experience of camping out in their campgrounds. By 7 AM your hot as hell take a shower come back out just to start sweating again. I happened to open the cooler and felt it was nice and I had one of those little battery operated fans. I ended up sticking that battery operated fan on top of the ice and it really helped. I just had to keep buying ice at five dollars a pop which was pretty expensive if you think about how long ago that was.

I’ve had different versions of this over the years. They’re only good like putting it on your nightstand at night time as a little fan blowing on your face. Just put in literal ice cubes. Like I said it’s nice at night time, but it doesn’t cool anything down except your face if it’s blowing right at it

How much they pay you to say that bc I've watched a few reviews that say different. The tempurature and humdity it the room actually went up, only cooling one person directly infront of it. It's basically just a fan blowing over some ice. You can basically do the same thing with an ocilating fan if you freeze a couple of 2 little bottles of water and put them bihind the fan. Clever with the commercials, I almost bought one until I read the specs on it and some honest YT reviews

They work great…directly in your face. I wouldn’t pay $40 for one. The cheaper Temu and others work exactly the same. It’s an evaporative cooler so it’s not going to do anything during humid weather anyway. As a desk top, direct in your face cooler is really all it’s power will allow, humid or not. If you want a real evaporative cooler, get one that fits in your window. Yeah, they’re bigger but they’re effective. My cooler is approximately 3 feet by 2 feet and one foot deep. Fits right in my window and I can connect water directly to it. I paid $75 for it. Extra $35 well spent.

When I was growing up in NYC back in the late 1960s or early 1970s, we had a "room cooler" that was about the size of a small AC window unit and I remember how much really cold air that thing could put out. Worked very well to say the least.

I got one. Lol. Just out of desperation. It works okay for a bit. Just a stop gap from getting my AC fixed. It has so much condensation though when you use ice water. So you’ll need paper towels. Also, I put 2 frozen water bottles in front of the vent. It works fairly decent. Lol. Although not as advertised. The cooler mod AC is much better. But you need tools. I have all of them except the jigsaw. 🤣 my real AC will be working in a couple of days.

@@CCCC-tq8yo I ended up putting it in a shallow baking pan so I could dump out the water every few hours. Also I put 2 frozen water bottles BEHIND the vent. That with the ice water in the tank, worked much better. But you still have to sit in front of it. It’s not going to cool the room at all. Just the person getting the breeze from the fan.

Use a strong vintage fan behind or in fronta it an ure room will be cool it will pull the cool air especially if u use the older fans an the standing oscillating fans with wide blades cause alotta the newer fans do not work blow air.

I've had my Artic Air for 2 years. I have added ice and it is much cooler when you do, but what I really do is wet the filter and add water that's all it take for me. I'm cool the entire evening, under the blanket cool.

Take out the PVC Medium and it will work a lot better, the medium actually works against it. Also dip a q tip in lemon juice and rub it across the atomizers while its on and it will unclog.

These are absolutely not what you think they are. Our heatpump went out last year or the year before and I bought one of these. We put it in our den because it's the coolest (temp) in our house. I put cold water in it , filled it with ice and it was basically a tiny bit cooler than a regular fan. I was so happy when the heat pump guy showed up. If you want one of these to put in the bedroom or something then it's OK but if you're gonna depend on it to keep your room cool ,then don't get one

I have two of these but it's a different brand and the ones I have look cheaper but work so much better lol. I hear nothing but bad things about these arctic air ones, the two I have made it thru two summers so far with no issues. I get the filters wet and freeze them and fill the top tank with water and it blasts nice chilly air. I don't have central A/C but half of my house is basically underground so it stays a lot cooler than most houses. Didn't even need to start using these until the end of June. I only paid 10 bucks a piece too

A 1000 square foot room? That's about the size of a 3 car garage. Anyone who lives in a home with single rooms 1,000 square feet in size isn't shopping for $20 budget cooling solutions. I lived in a 1940s era house that was 995 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room and a dining room. This thing couldn't cool down the bathroom in that little place.

These are better than nothing but not much better than a fan lol they’re okay if they’re less then two feet away blowing directly in you but it will NEVER cool a room down. Not even 1 degree lol you can recreate this by placing a cold wet towel around your neck and put a fan on you, or put a wet towel over a fan that is blowing at you. It will feel the same.

Nice idea but you're only transferring cold energy out from your ice freezer into where you put it at while also heating up the area where your ice freezer sits! Basically, you're just transferring the heat from your room to another room where your freezer sits! And, it's in a very small amount of heat! Not enough to make a big difference to be worth it!

Here’s my advice of how to have your room cool. So make sure the colour of your curtain or blind is pure white because if it’s not and it’s a dark colour curtain the sun that is hitting it will absorb so much heat and radiate. Having white curtains, keep your room cooler because it reflects the sunlight away making it much easier for your room not to warm up and easier for your room to cool down at night. Another thing to do that will be the main thing of them all is to get a white roof because they reflect a lot of the sunlight keeping the surface of your roof much cooler which will lead the inside temperatures cooler. Keep in mind anything that’s white reflects the sunlight back to space and anything that’s black absorbs the heat so if you want things to be colder then have white.

It will work better if you add ice water and freeze water bottles and put them in front of the vents. But you’ll be sopping up water from condensation. This thing will cool an “area” of a room, but it will NOT work miracles. It’s literally just good for emergency use. IMO. It does cool okay if used right. Just it ain’t gonna cool your room. Just where you are.
