Since u have that skillet, I learned how to make a potato pancake from powdered mash potatoes. For 1 potato pancake mix 1/4 cup mash potato powder + 2 TBSP (1/8 cup) Self Rising Flour + 3/8 cup water, let sit a couple minutes and potatoes will absorb the water. The flour is the binder and rises. Skillet fry then add syrup.

Ever thought about having a ham radio with you? Lots of very small portable stuff available now. Small as a cb, runs on 12vdc, piece of wire for an antenna and talk all over the world on 20 watts. The passive solar is the bomb. Glad to have that info under my belt.

Dude, the frozen veggies, some of those you just boil up and make a little soup or something with it, I would use it and do soup you know throw in a piece of meat little bit of bacon... Few spices simple. But your thumbnail -30 Fahrenheit is pretty brutal in a tent even with the heater, definitely need more wood, I was in North Dakota in the late eighties and it was routinely 30 below zero or colder but we were in buildings with crazy heaters so. is there some issue in north america with useing fruit and veg that has frozen? In europe its very common to buy bags of frozen product as well as fresh,its just flash frozen nothing added but cooks just the same as fresh. Potatoes yeah not so much they dont freeze well but everything else i buy frozen and cook straight to pan
