Guys, thank you for all the suggestions to wear heated gear! I want to try some next spring! If you have any suggestions about brands or want to tell me what works for you drop me a comment here! Thank you! ❤️🙏🏻 And because there are so many questions: The trip was in July/August 2020 (please read the captions of the videos for more infos, most of the things you want to know can be found there :) )

My recommendations: Gerbing and Klim! They offer complete systems from collar to toes with battery connection or mobile battery packs included in the clothing. The clothing is lightweight and really warm! And you can wear each part separately, too of course, socks, gloves...

Try "Icebreaker" base layer clothing. I never got cold once
@Got2Go4 жыл бұрын
@@lovefamilies9521 I already have perfect base layers for me (can't wear merino though because I am allergic to it). But even those get to their limits if riding in temperatures below 0 for 8 hours...
@Got2Go4 жыл бұрын
@@christophmensch3945 Yes, Gerbing was recommended to me often (never heard of it before though, so it's very interesting!). Do you know if you for example get some klim heated gear works better if you already have a klim jacket because they fit better together or doesnt that matter? I as well feel like getting something for upper body would probably already be a huge improvement - I rarely get cold on my feet with the right socks and my alpinestar toucans.
@lovefamilies95214 жыл бұрын
unfortunately the best fabric on your naked skin is "Pure Wool". Once you have that, the outer layers just needs to be a "windjammers". I use exactly the same principles Ocean Racing, with Oilskins as outer layer

The day smiles on the wheels of such beautiful rides... Nobles knights are greeted countless times with rain and cold, seeking shelter in remote and cold land... Mo I Rana! Toast with mujitos in their brief stay. In their beautiful mounts, they are greeted countless times with blankets of snow and rain on along journey to the Artic circle, the destination wanted them both to reach the Lofoten Islands by sea.... Beautiful video and narration. As always. I especially liked the un-layering. That little twirl of the second to last layer was an unexpected treat and quite cute! I am excited and watching your videos helped inspire me. I take delivery of a 2018 KTM 1090 ADV R tomorrow. She has been a garage queen for the last 2 years with only 1500 miles. Nary a scratch anywhere. She looks brand new . Nicely equipped as well. Panniers, GPS , custom seat etc. I like that the electronics are minimal in comparison to some bikes. If I like motorcycle travel maybe later I will look at a GS. After all I was born in Munchen. Grew up in Bad Tolz. Thank you for producing your wonderful videos and most of all for your inspiration! BTW, have you tried for your sea sickness the wrist bands that work on pressure points? I have had excellent luck with them unlike medication & have been able to tolerate boating ever since. Just a suggestion.
@Got2Go3 жыл бұрын
Tried all of these things, from the wristbands to eating a lot of ginger, to all medication out there. My motion sickness is really bad, I as well get sick when I sit in the back of a car or someone else drives (it’s not so much when it’s bumpy, in an airplane for example I don’t mind turbulences - but I nearly collapse when they fly very slow turns). Thanks for the suggestion, but most people traveling as much as me and being really Motion sick tried already everything out there to survive. 😂 unfortunately for me only the hardcore medication works in some cases - but it makes me super tired and as well effects my mood, that’s why I mostly try to just suffer it through and chew some chewing gums against motion sickness (for a while I as well tried the travel sickness chewing gums plus the wristbands - but for me it felt that they had 0 effect on me 🥺)

The gear I wore on this trip is goretex (unlike the suit I had in the USA that is more mesh for ventilation and hot temperatures), so you don’t need an outer layer or additional rain gear because it is waterproof itself. Makes it much more easy with so much rain on and off! 😅 but I as well bought the pants on the way in Germany because I started with a thin mesh pants and realized that this would be a pain in the ass…

The trip was in July and august (find infos in the captions of the videos) so it was the best travel season. You can always be unlucky in Norway with getting a lot of rain.

I only encountered your channel today, and I watched this whole journey so far. Too bad the weather is not friendly to you, but your story makes it very interesting, with really beautiful views. I subscribed, and this journey is probably almost over, but I understood there are a lot more travel videos to see. Thanks for your work.
