Its incredible how Alex is so orally weak talking with someone in a conversation, but, at the same time, he has a perfect, impeccable diction, when he is singing. For example, when he sings at a rapid pace he does not leave a word or a syllable behind (Teddy Picker, R u Mine, This House is a Circus, etc.). In terms of diction, he is one of the best vocalists i´ve ever heard in my life. Its kind of ironic.

He defo wasn't high. However, he does seem like he's suffering the effects of taking lots of drugs. You can tell with the slow responses, the way he has to think about things for a second. Also the stutters and the slurry speech (Compared to him 5 years ago). He looks like he's coming down from a long high and his mind isn't quite the same. I think he's suffering from the effects of fame too. It wouldn't surprise me. His ego check is probably unbalanced. He makes little comments as if he's about to open up himself but then cancels the sentence Like when they were talking how he is confident or not.He almost seems like he has lost himself a little i think, like he's in some sort of mental psychosis. I mean he's not even 30 and he's very slow. Look at his new music too! Lots of references to being high are the lifestyle that is attached to the drug scene. The music is more mellow and has lots of "trippy" sounds, the tempo has shot down in lots of his songs and the general feel of those drum and bass lines are almost in tangent with "Stoner" Music; music that is good for taking drugs with. So maybe he incorporated the stoner stuff into his music whether it consciously or subliminal. I know as a song writer that you often subconsciously send meanings and themes into the songs that are taken from your surroundings and your experiences. Its really obvious he's abused some kind of drug at some point. Probably a depressent. Oh btw, my father is a drug rehabilitator. I see this shit every day. and if it isn't drugs then i really think he is mentally ill.
