As a bit of background info, Arctic Monkeys became huge in the UK before they had actually released anything officially. They uploaded demos of many of the songs that would later feature on the 1st album & early singles b-sides on their Myspace page. This was before the use of social media became the norm.

weren't they, actually their first fans, they've said in a lot of interviews mostly Alex they at that point had no idea of what was happening at the background of their tremendous success initially.

I love your reactions to arctic monkeys! My favorite songs from this album are "do me a favour", and "505". If you're going to the next album "secret door", "pretty visitors" and "jewelers hands", "dance little liar" and "cornerstone" are all incredible!

Great reaction guys. Alex Turner was about 20 when he wrote this so it was more of his idea of the future or a comment on others 🤔. You've now listend to tracks of the first and second album, I would recommend 4 out of 5 next off there latest album to see how they've changed.

I think the lyrics are actually from the perspective of a woman, being melancholy about "flourescent adolescence"

Great banter between you guys, really enjoying your reactions to all these great songs. It allows us all out here to listen again as if for the first time - so fresh...! This is a fab song anyway but elevated by Alex Turner's lyrics

The first two songs you did were from the first record, this was from the second, one of their biggest hits as I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear. They're my favourite band and even though I normally get a little tired of their biggest hits, living in the UK it's inescapable (not a bad thing) but FA never gets old for me. It makes me a little emotional. It's actually a sad song, it's about a woman looking back on her youth and longing for the days when she would party and go out. The lyrics have a lot of british slang in them lol, his later lyrics are more metaphorical whilst his earlier lyrics were more relatable, but both styles are fantastic. If you were to do more reviews it would be interesting to get something from all albums but that's quite a big chunk of music, so a good direction for you might be Do I Wanna Know? (From "AM", 2013, their biggest hit in the US) and Four Out Of Five from the last record Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino, which is a more theatrical concept album

@@intothemusic908 hard to explain ( from their first album), reptillia (probably their most popular), and selfless (from their latest album). Those 3 give decent variety, but honestly you could find decent variety from album to album because each one has a different sound.

SoMoSixx is the person who made the lyrics video, I’m guessing they’ve never listened to the song before as they missed out lots of lyrics & incorrect lyrics. Surely I’m not the only one to see this & get annoyed 😒

I think the lyrics are about a girl who married when she was very young, but the marriage become kind of disturbing because her husband didn't treat her well and they just start to get old, so eventually things get cold between them. She remembers when she was young and how awful things are now

It's their most overrated and overplayed song, from an overrated album, but still a great song; Do I Wanna Know was their mainstream hit in 2012, from their fifth album AM. But don't fall into the trap of only listening to the AM album - the 2006/2007 albums are better. So yeah - "Do I Wanna Know"

@@GlzckJordan to clarify: what I meant was 'do I wanna know' should be listened to, however it is overrated, and so is AM in general. You might have misinterpreted it as saying I dislike Fluorescent Adolescent, which isn't what I meant to say, it's a great song.

@@bentownsend4017 no, i interpreted it as you saying that fluorescent adolescent was overrated and overplayed, but also cannot agree with you saying that you think am in general are overrated, if anything they're underrated lol, some of the best song writing of the 00/10s, they've got 2 10/10 albums with 2 more being solid 8's, AM is some of their only ''overplayed'' stuff, but not all, mainly do i wanna know/r u mine, songs like no 1 party anthem, one for the road, i wanna be yours all are very, very good tunes and are personally stand outs on that album, whether it's overplayed or not though, do i wanna know is era defining song
