I really wish people would stick to studio versions for their recommendations. Live versions are great, but the first time you hear a song it should be the studio version.

@Stuff I Like yeah but teddy picker came out in 2007, crying lightning in 2009, this performance is from 2014, it doesn't have the same feel, they said it themselves, they feel like they're "covering" their older songs, also, theres music videos to both of these songs relevant to the years they came out so I think it would be so much better to listen to the original studio version or even better to watch the music video with it. I agree that they are amazing live and from 2013 they all started to give it alot more emotion but when listening to old songs like this, i dont really think its a good idea to listen to a live performance that came out 7 years later than the actualy song, or if it is gonna be a live version, then do a perfomance from the year it came out. Maybe its a copyright issue? not sure, i doubt that though.

The studio version is more enjoyable, in my opinion.

Alex Turner is a clever , funny lyricist, it’s hard to hear the lyrics live and with his Sheffield accent though.

A lot of the music you react to isn’t usually my thing but I am learning to appreciate it more & more. You’re clearly very knowledgeable about music & your reviews are great. Subscribed 🤘🏼

arctic monkeys' songs are peculiar, I didn't like crying lightning when I first heard it and now it's my favorite song by the band

I feel like the studio version should always be listened to first, things get kinda lost in translation in the live performances.

Yup, Arctic Monkeys have great lyrics, that's what drew me to them, the perfectly common-life type of clever lyrics. It seemed so close to my own way of thinking. The music is good also, ecpecialy if you want to sing along and dance to it, but sometimes there are also some clever bits in the music as well!

all I can say is that their older performances of the old stuff is the best. 06 and 07 performances were their peak

I love AM and I think you need to listen the studio version too. I also want to know if you would like to react to Beyonce again. React to her performance at grammy 2017 :)

For me Arctic Monkeys give off a certain vibe, once you find the feeling that matches it (For me it's irony, being scandalous or the mood of being tongue-in-cheek), It's essentially if Punk and the Rockabilly persona had a kid. Once you relate to that, you sort of "get" the songs.

I hated Crying Lightning when it came out and the album it was from, Humbug. It was such a departure from their first two albums. However, I found with more listens the song and album grew on me.

React to something by uk subs, a legendary punk band that deserves to be bigger. Try warhead, emotional blackmail and rockers or better yet review their first 2 albums

I liked this song. But here they're just barreling through it. This is my beef with most bands. They butcher their own songs when they try to play it live. This is one of the reason why I hold Rush in the highest regard above other bands when it comes to musicianship on stage. And let's not forget the engineering of live sound, that's another can of worms on its own that also changes the dynamics of a song when its played live.

Probably not, because I'm not a lyrics guy. I never have been. I play to my strengths and what I know well. I'm not going to insult the viewers by pretending to know about lyrics when I clearly have no idea about them. Why pretend and lie? Being honest is WAY easier, feels better on the conscience too.

The problem with their live performances (especially from this era), is the fact that Alex is drunk in every single one lmao. He still does an incredibly good job at playing the guitar and singing in the same time, but you can always hear he's a bit off (which is fine, he's human after all). But i swear he could sing both of them equally as good as the studio version if he was sober.. the biggest problem i have with their later performances of their older songs is that they're slower than studio versions (mostly due to Alex being a bit drunk ahaha)

alex sings differently with a deeper voice now that he is older it is not because he is drunk. he isnt off he is just doing it differently.
@Ennui.
@Ennui. Жыл бұрын
@@dutchman8887 I'll give you the "his voice got deeper with age". And they really did start playing slower ever since 2016-ish. But it's a well known fact that Alex has had a bit of a drinking problem up until 2014/2015. They've been one of the biggest bands in the world for the past 15+ years, it would be quite naive to think they've not given into drugs and alcohol at some point in their career.
