There are so many Arctic Monkeys songs I think you would love but two immediately jump out at me as songs you would really be into. The first is Fright Lined Dining Room, which is a b-side from the Humbug era. Don’t let the fact that it didn’t make the album hold you back from reviewing it because if you keep listening to these guys you’ll realize that they are the kings of the b-side. The bass is incredible in that one and it’s just right up your alley. The other is a song called Balaclava which is on the same album as Teddy Picker and Alex’s flow is incredible. Definitely have the lyrics in front of you if you review that one cause he spits really fast in it.

A lot of the backside songs of the Arctic Monkeys are true-r to the style of theirs. Alex is a poet and will try to describe something. Example is in "Dance Little Liar" when he asks "have you got itchy bones?/" to describe cravings and anxiety. It may be a phrase used for drug addicts, but to transfer the insult of those words to a desperate liar is quite clever. Matt Helders is a freak and will be the best drummer of our time once those of '80s and '90s put down their sticks. Watching any of his improv'd solos are killer, let alone is rehearsed and played-out sets. Jamie Cook and Nick O'Malley do not get enough credit. In live performances, they are sync'd so well that Turner can put his lyrics on their tunes as if it were freestyle bars in a rap battle and I put the example of when they perform "Fluorescent Adolescent." Also, Alex Turner ain't bad with a guitar.

Hey RRT, just kicking it after getting off work, great jam, anything off the first two album's is ,imo the best shit they've done. Glad you noticed the bass line and drummer ( that dude is underated) check out "when the sun goes down" or " Brianstorm " two great tracks I think you'd dig. Stay Peace man.

I'm not usually someone who will be like "god their new stuff SUCKS I like their OLD STUFF!" because if I like a band usually I will find tracks I connect with no matter the time period - like MM or QOTSA I enjoy their entire discog - but I really feel like AM lost something that was really vital to their sound. Radiohead is another band that lost me with their more recent albums, but that's a little different because I can still hear the 'Radiohead' vibe in there somewhere - even if I like maybe one song on the entire album.

Fuzzy Dunlop yeah I hear what your saying, I bought humbug and didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I have listened to everything since hoping they would go back to the raw jamming thing they had, cuz it t was special. I'm not a new stuff hater either, usually....

If so, for WTF Wednesdays I'd suggest Trucker's Atlas by Modest Mouse (should read the lyrics for it cuz that's one of MM's strengths). Ooooh, for Metal Mondays Song for the Dead by Queens of the Stone Age. They're not a metal band, but I fucking DARE someone to tell me that song isn't hard as stone.

@@viniciusnascimento1993 YES fly Trapped in a Jar was another one I was thinking of recommending, I just figured he'd really appreciate the drums and the whole groove of the Truckers Atlas, since that's what he seems to be into - and I'd love his opinion of the whole "white trash funk" thing they had going on in their early days - but their newer stuff is out there for sure. I was thinking King Rat, too. That has "WTF Wednesdays" written all over it. lol Anything but Float On which has been done to death.

This video is a compilation, i felt the song not as strong as in other studio recordings or in the official album version, but still nice one. listen the album version now, much havier and full sound. Great arctic monkeys song and one of my favorites: "Perhaps Vampires Is a Bit Strong But…" PS: Thak you so much for present me a Tribe called quest, i´m still listening frequently

yes they are influenced by hiphop, they started off wanting to create a hip hop band but they put tons of hip hop influence into their songs
