I just bought 4 of these, and they're spectacular. Made huge improvements for my temps even with my shitty case that has a nearly solid front panel(it has a slight ventilation on the top corner). Unfortunately, retailers here have 0 stock of the 5 value pack, and the only available ones near me are the white ones with clear blades, but I don't mind it that much. And I can't really say anything about the noise because I don't care for that since I live in a very hot and tropical country, I have a fan turned on all the time anyway.

I got myself 3 P12 and 2 P14 and i had mixed feelings about them right out of the box. They sounded horrible with auto pwm settings since they really do make super annoying sounds at certain rpm ranges. BUT once you tweak them, they are actually really good. i did some testings on all of the pwn ranges i have in 50s steps pretty much on both p12 and p14 to filter those ''avoid'' rpms and then tried how high i can go with the rpm without the fans becoming too loud. And for me and my case the sweetspot for both p12 and p14 is 1300rpm. They push alot of air and they are quiet. If i have my window open, i allready cant hear them anymore at all. And i have them running at 1300 fixed all the time, so they dont ramp up or go lower and get to those avoid ranges, the system now just sounds great and it sounds consistent. Thats the ''drawback'' to me. If you want straight up out of the box fans that you can put to auto pwm and forget about them: go with noctuas or something... the arctics really need some fixed rpm values.
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 жыл бұрын
Interessting, we use ours for multiple purposes, some making them spin at 100% right next to my face. For myself, even 100% pwm is still acceptable noise. Maybee i’m less sensitive to that kind of noise cause I heard soo many fans and know how loud it can be. But as long as you found you perfect setting :p

@@STSYT kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6jJpYmDfLWCn6s you hear that humming noise in this test very clearly for example. as soon as you raise the rpm again, its basicly gone. its super loud ^^ And yeah, 100% is even a more acceptable noise than 1000rpm or 1200rpm because thats where they humm for me ^^

Imagine you prep your room with accustic panels and stuff to make your room accustics better and then you have some loud fan whine in the background... it basicly kills most of the efford you put in in the first place

I have 7 of these P12 PWM PST fans. 6 for my case, and 1 to replace my air cooler's RGB fan. Let me tell you, these aren't quiet at full speed. They will make a low hum similar to that of a lawnmower, but way quieter. They'll also lightly send harmonics through your case if you have quite a few of them. You can't hear them in office noise levels, but if you're in a dead-silent bedroom, you will hear them from about a meter away. This small noise problem, however, can be solved simply by adding a limit to your motherboard's PWM range so they can't run at their full speed (1800 RPM). Another thing to look out for is their revisions. Apparently, the 2nd revison of this model doesn't have the "0db below 5% PWM" feature while the 3rd revision does. So, look out for that if you want these guys to reach 0 RPM.

@@STSYT Eh it actually makes a lot of sense. Bigger brands can afford better, more efficient manufacturing on top of mass production which gives them a cheaper cost per unit which means they have more wiggle room in price. Realistically a lot of brands could sell their products for a lot cheaper and they'd do better in terms of sales but they want more and more profit

Hi, Could you compare the P12 PWM PST with the CO version, which has double ball bearings? I understand that FDB fans break down sooner if they are vertically mounted, whereas those with ball bearings can be in any position. Another one that I would be interested to see in the comparison is the corsair ML120, the ones that come in a pack of 2 fans, without RGB. Because of the "magnetic levitation" and what they say is better than FDB or BB. I have them in my case but I am thinking of changing them for the Arctic P12 or P120. The ML120 are 2400rpm, I think they are more suitable for CPU than for case, 1800rpm seems a bit fair for CPU. I have 4 of 120mm and 2 of 140mm, and if I don't configure the PWM correctly ... the tower takes off to the ceiling ...
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 жыл бұрын
I put the ML120 on my todo list. For the PWM PST vs CO review, I doubt that this one is going to be made. The only difference I could concentrate on that one would be noise difference, and that's just not enough for a whole video.

I have my desktop next to me on my desk. I currently have a P400A PC case so it does have a nice airflow and so I don't even need to ramp up the fans. In fact, my current CPU temp sits around 33 degrees and that's with the Arctic Esport Duo. I currently have the Arctic p12 PWM in my case all running at 650rpm and I don't hear it. If I run it at 50% 1100rmp it still doesn't make a sound. At 75% which is 1500rpm, you get a light whistle which is somewhat annoying. At 100% hitting around 1860rpm, I can honestly say it does sound like a small jet engine. But realistically speaking even in summer the PC just stays quiet all the time, the temps don't even increase and the fans never seem to ramp up to high levels. My friend spent a lot of money on his PC and it's super high-end compared to mine since I went for the budget route, but even he admitted that my Arctic fans are no different to his Noctuas. Even my Arctic Esports Duo performance is just as good as his Noctua NH D15 even in noise levels and cooling. Price to performance the Arctic fans perform extremely well and I am honestly pleased with them.

Took this fan yestarday for 6 euro with 6 year guarantee. The guy that build my PC left it connected to the AIO Pump connection and the fan was working on high RPM and was noticeably loud for my taste. I changed the connection point to the Cahsis Fan 1 and regulated the RPM to be at 20% and I can say I can't hear it is working, first signs of noise I heard was around 35% RPM wich is plenty for my office PC and I plan to leave it on 20%. So in conclusion for 6 euro and low RPM nothing can beat it.

I get what you mean. On the ‘buying’-part. It’s unusual for manufacturers to have a presentational website that immidiately provides a buying option. Other manufacturer usually only use third-party’s and retailers. So I don’t really care that there is a ‘buy’ button on every page, but i get that this may come across negatively. On the explanation part. I put 3 of these in the front of a corsair 4000D air flow and it stays cool and quiet with a manual fan curve. They stay between 30% and 80% depending on CPU/GPU temps. Since adding the manual fan curve instead of the motherboard's default loud% my room became so quiet that it's actually kind of difficult to get used to. Years of sleeping near a PC with the fans being a constant ambient noise became my normal.

A tutorial will come on the STS-Tutorial Channel, but it's due sometime in May 2021. Until then: www.sts-tutorial.com/download/msvcp140_1 The Steps to install the files are on the Site, if you want a Video Tutorial, just follow the MSVCP140.dll Tutorial, it's 1-1 the same thing.

Sure, they are just meant for that. You can run anything 24/7. The CO version has Ball Bearings ( non co has Fluid Dynamic ), these should be better in hotter operations, again like Servers. You probably won't even notice the difference inside a normal PC.

Thanks for the video! . I don't know about PCs, so I kindly ask your assistance on this matter, please. . My intention is to build: - 2 140mm fans (front) - 1 120mm fan (rear) - NO ROOM FOR 140mm ON THE REAR. -1 140mm fan (top) My PC case: Corsair 4000D airflow. . No radiator, just a CPU cooler to add to this fan setup. . Would you please suggest me about: - should I use a PST fan or just PWM is OK? (I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT PST MEANS! Did not even understand what PST is for!). - about F and P series. What is the real difference in the use? Should I mix in my configuration F and P? If so, COULD YOU PLEASE let me know where to use F and where to use P in my build? . Thanks, once again. . Cheers from Rio de Janeiro! Subscribed, of course!!!

You're welcome :) Okay so, PST is that little splitter cable that is attached to the Fans PWM cable. This allows you to connect one fan to the other, which end up with multiple fans running on a single Fan header. You don't really need it, though I would highly suggest it as it makes thinks way easier to install and control later on. For the F and P Series, as said in the video, the Fs are more airflow focused while the Ps have a higher static pressure. This basically means that the Ps are better at getting air though stuff like radiators. But this doesn't stop here, Static pressure is also good to have if you have a Dust filter or something like a Mesh grid going on. We are currently making the reviews on the F12s and F14s, but these videos are not ready yet. But to jump a bit ahead, I would recommend to go with the P12s and P14s in your particular case. I would take 3xP14 PWM PST and 1x P12 PWM PST. Then I would use the PST system to connect the 2x Front Fans on one header, and the Top and Back Fan on another one. This way you would have easy access to control everything separately, while not being forced to control every single individually. I hope this helps:) Cheers!

fan speed isn t a great comparason, you should try to make your test noise normalized, like "what is each fan performance at 30db, 35db, 40db"
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 жыл бұрын
I would love to do that. But using dB meters are either extremely inaccurate or expensive as hell. As soon as there’s budget for a high-end measuring device, you can be sure that we’ll do that.

I prefer the F12 for rear and top exaust fans. You don't need more than 1 front fan since your case cooling is done thru convection.

Your CPU radiator orientation is interesting. As opposed to somewhat vertical airflow (when fans are mounted of course) , I'd always thought that a strictly horizontal airflow (with maybe one fan at the top of the case) was the way to go. Do you have any data, whether one or the other is the best for thermals? Thanks for a great video btw 👍

Yes and no, sure noctua's are more expensive. But they're not bad. And compared to most other case fans out there, noctua blows everything away. But here comes Arctic with reasonable pricing and noctua-like performance. It gets hard to justify a 20€/$ fan when you know arctic exists.
