I encouraged an old friend to quit watching the sites and try to challenge himself to stay away from them for 3 days or even a week... And he literally stopped texting me. In your journey of self improvement, you may end up alone, but that's part of it.

Brother, God loves you so very much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ, who bled and died on a cross for you, so that you may have a chance to believe in Him, and have by believing in His name you may have eternal life, full of His peace. Without Jesus as your Lord and master, you will always feel an empty void inside of you. And what's more, He has risen back to life so that you may be justified. Jesus loves you, God cares for you! Therefore repent from your ways, and believe the good news.

when i watch kenny's videos, i see myself in him i'm leaving this comment here coz i've realized some of my bad habits - like the ones mentioned here, PMO, short-term gratifications - are taking a toll on my life, even my relationships. i've become really insecure and it's affecting my relationship with my girl (we're having a lot of arguments or issues and looking inwards, they're stemming from my insecurities) and even friends too, also family. i've tried these self-improvement things but it's been on and off - things like cold showers, no fap, working out, tried meditation - sometimes i feel them working but i really lack the consistency
@inutofu
@inutofu Жыл бұрын
Man, what a journey it's been up to now. I kinda want to post my development here to show how all this affected me, so here I go: I don't really wanna get into detail of who I was before, so I start with the beginning of my journey to my better self. NoFap: At first, I started to do NoFap. I lasted 4 days... Don't get me wrong, it's the longest I lasted in years, and yet there was this feeling of despair. "Maybe I simply can't do it" I said to myself. "Maybe thats just not who I am" I said. I couldn't have been more wrong. Before I started reading Psycho Cybernetics, I limited myself to fap only twice a week. After I read the first 2 chapters, I was now able to last a week and I don't plan on picking it up ever again. I don't have this desire anymore. I can't really explain how, but it just worked. It changed something within me. Meditating: I pretty much instantly adapted medtitating to my daily schedule and at first it was tricky to completely focus, relax and not let my thoughts run wild. But over time I got better and better. Now I am able to completely relax, focus needs a little bit more training, but it feels great. It helped me a lot staying more calm and gain control over my emotions. But I still have much to learn. Working out: I started picking up my own workout again, after I failed multiple times in the past to keep it consistent. After a while I noticed that I was not really getting any results out of it. So I started doing a workout from a professional fitness guy on KZbin. In the first 2 weeks that Workout showed more results than my own did. I now work out every second day and so far, I like the results. Cold showers: As with meditating, I instantly adapted that. Every time I shower, I do it cold. Before that I always showered warm, I looooved it. So it was crazy to see how fast I adapted to cold showers. And every time I get out of one, put on my fresh clothes and sit down in my chair, I feel sooo amazing. It feels so good and refreshing and as a results makes me more happy. Going for walks: I still think it's crazy how fast I was able to make changes. Personally I thought it would be harder for me. With going for walks I really got a new perspective of my surroundings. I live in a city, so it's kinda hard for me to go on different walks every time. I started doing 2 hour walks, which I got tired of because I only had 2 routes I could go. So I changed that to a half an hour walk through the near nature reserve. It's not much but it still helps me stay fit. And thats my journey so far. I am currently reading Psycho Cybernetics and I already fully read The Dopamin Nation. Both have helped me a lot in terms of becoming my best self so far. I feel so much happier and I feel like my current self is the best it's ever been. But still, all of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you Kenny! Finding your channel was the foundation for all of this. And I couldn't be more grateful❤ Keep up the good work, looking foreward to the next video!✌

I resonated most with his explanation of 'shadow self'. So whenever I thought of getting better and doing the right thing, my first thought would be to close the damn app and start and doing the difficult stuff. Now, whenever I tried this, I was conflicted and froze because there was a part of me who was sad to let go of all the comfort that I was experiencing till then. But when I gave it a deep thought and questioned why things were like that and how could I remedy it, I came to an answer quite simple - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. All of a sudden, all the resistance towards doing the hard stuff loosened a little bit and the fog cleared up just enough for me to look at my next course of action. Yes, it was temporary but just what I needed!

Excellent video. You hit the nail on the head with every point. One bit of critique I would give is to not show images or clips (even soft core) of sexual content when discussing it, since many who struggle with this addiction (including myself) can be triggered pretty easily even by the most soft core content. Other than that, I really like your advice and outlook on life!

i was in a clinic par years ago because of abuse, bullying and self deletion, my head had a fight with itself and the strange thing was that a part of my head forced me to meditate to fight the self deletion part, since then i hear my self thoughts only the positive and that rarely, the negative not anymore! my head is fully in autopilot when i am depressed or when i am a danger to myself. I hope that these bad experiences have not created a second personality that is trying to protect me.

0:54 I know who I am. I am a child of God. And I have specific skills, I feel called to make videogames to try to spread the gospel. 4:20 ah yes just five easty steps because its just that easy... For money and sex, because that's the best end goal to have. 5:00 I have a slightly different approach to this mindset. My thoughts arent me but the process in which I come to them essentially is. I feel like just saying "these thoughts are not me" just leaves more questions than answers, then what is "me?" I imagine it has to be the process. 5:55 ive heard it said, have an open mind, but close it down on something, else your brain will fall out. 7:16 purpose, do as God commanded. The goal, spread the gospel. To make it as non-specific as possible. The best way I personally at the moment think I can achieve that given my skillset is to make videogames that arent just you know, pure dopamine. But ive found that doesnt mean making games that are overly didactic. There needs to be a balance, and I cant just *push an agenda* here, that wont convince anyone of anything. Storytelling is displaying a situation, and letting the viewer take away what they will. The takeaway can be obvious, but the method does not involve telling people what to think, only showing people a situation. 7:40 If I ever made the decision to "deconstruct" leave the faith behind... what purpose is left? I cant see myself ever not trying to be creative in some way, but without a moral compass I see those creative endeavors going a very... coomer-centric, way, lets just put it that way. 8:00 the goal, as unrealistic as it may be, is to have a widely successful indie game that shares the message of the gospel AND makes its way into pop culture, bringing many to God. That is my ambition. My expectation is a small indie carrier with a small but dedicated fanbase, that is mostly fellow Christians but occasionally reaches someone. 9:40 see ive tried more or less. The main thing that "my shadow" purports is a lust issue. And ive thought it over and over in my head, why its appealing, what it takes from me, all of that. And yet the cycle continues.

It’s so strange how, even though I wanted to get better at guitar and loved music more than anything, I would spend so much time playing shitty videogames and listen to music in the background. Once I started building my stereo system and improving at guitar, I was finally feeling joy, instead of pleasure/cheap happiness (a major difference, which was first outlined in my 11th grade religion class). That passion leaked into all other parts of my life, I’m leaving high school with a 97 average, and have a flat 100 so far senior year. Carl Jung saved my life. Also, porn is the most damaging aspect of modern teen life besides alcohol and drugs: embrace straight edge!!

Tons & tons of videos about this. Normal life is boring as hell and expensive as hell. Working hard while listening to the sound of your brain turning into styrofoam is gonna make you depressed because that's how humans work. Once you're done with shoo shit and it's time to work full-time, you're already pretty burnt out and the next ~50-60 years of your life are going to be GRINDING for money. So yeah, people have a hard time mustering up enough denial to pretend to give a fuck for much longer. People are lost because normal life is much too damned expensive and painfully tedious for what most of it really is after all the hype and BS. I felt that way at 8 years old and I feel that way at almost 47.

Question. Doesn't implementing your shadow cause you to identify with your thoughts? In order to accept your shadow you have to accept that some thoughts are apart of you? I really like the idea of not identifying with my thoughts because there are things about my thoughts that pull me to bad habits and lifestyles. But when you started talking about implementing your shadow that feels like I have to accept some of the things I like as fact versus telling myself that my brain just likes it for now and that I can change it. What is the thought process here?

Identify,accept,overcome and control them just like addictions.Most peoples thoughts of themselves and what they want these days are given to them by tv,ads,mainstream culture and consumerism,they exploit Jungs personality archetypes for social engineering.Disconnect yourself from all that crap and you'll realize your true self.

He speaks of integrating your shadow. But he doesnt explain how to do that. To do such a thing, you first need to write a list of all the things that you feel are your best qualities. Then, whatever the opposite is, is probably what you want to pretend doesnt exist and would be your shadow. Example: I am an honest person. So the shadow aspect would be that you are NOT an honest person. Simply accepting that you have the potential to be a real POS and accepting that is a good start. And even if you WERE to be that POS, its ok. there is no wrong way to live. Yeah, I can be a real POS, but not today.

Bruh my big big horrible shadow is that I unfortunately like femboys because I have also insecurities left by the girls I tried to date and an absence of father and a kind of reject of me to girls because I get mad at authority and my mom is my authority in my house so I dislike completely girls who are kinda strong character and that lead me to liking ultra femenine girls and femboys are like trying to be excessively feminine and that turns me on. I always fight against those thoughts, I see them as my enemy because I gotta become a strong masculine men, real men who is strong physical and mentally to archive my future goals, but lately my shadow is getting stronger and I hate myself so much and I'm thinking about getting strong and big and rich enough someday dso then I can do whatever I want without caring about others opinions, and sometimes I just hate me for that, I'm mentally fucked I can't be alone with my thoughts so I need to keep improving all the time.

It all depends on your goals, if you are 20 and want to have millions of dollars and be jacked by 30 it makes zero sense to spend an hour a day playing video games when it could be spent sleeping, meditating, training, reading, working, talking to a coach, etc. If you have pretty chill goals like at 30 be making 100k a year, look average, go on one vacation a year, and have a kid or two, an hour of video games a day isn't going to destroy your goals.

I have but one question how can you take control of your life when you have no control over your life. I'm 17. I live at home with my brother. We both work at a fast food joint together. All of our money goes to our parents But they're not using it for nothing nefarious we're in the process of building a house Because last year we sold our 4 bedroom 2 bath home in the city and bought 3 acres of raw mountain land on developed untamed. And here we are living in a 23' camper all 4 of us. Hardly no privacy So despite my dwindling sanity pretty much becoming shot I have managed to stumble across your Channel and you have a lot of good teams I am simply just trying to figure out how to Implement these while living through my current unique situation I personally do a lot of gaming and watch a lot Bad stuff on the Internet But it's because of what I'm allowed to do. I don't have my license, so I'm not allowed out of the house and when I am. We have to stay close to one another. My parents really don't want me dating because they're afraid me at my age. I'm going to throw my life away even though I deeply crave Companionship

We're all going to disagree on certain thing but this video is good because it touches on a lot of the same important point JBP would but without any of the stupid drama, politics, or cult like nature that sadly became a problem if you tried to lean on him for advice, core of it likely being that the sources of knowledge from old landmarks in the world of psych are there, just without whatever the heck that (Kermit the meat eaters) scene became.
