Fairly sure that NZ will not release their top players for the match against the Lions as the French are in NZ for a 3 match series. For that matter I doubt the Aussies will either. Fair play to Eddie Jones who at least turns up to press conferences, unlike the New Zealand cry babies. The NZ captain Savea didn't have the grace to turn up to the agreed Bledisloe presser with Slipper for the Aussie journalists. After they lost the series against Ireland Foster and Cane (Laurel and Hardy) cancelled the presser so they didn't have to face the hacks. Distinct lack of the cohones in that New Zealand team if they are afraid of journalists.

Love Ardie savea but not 2019,he was not overlooked, Pieter steph was outstanding 18 months before then, Ardie was mostly used from the bench and a bench player does not win the world rugby player of the year award, Kieran read was the incumbent number 8 and captain then with cane at 7, no impact player ever won that award..

@@poerava I repeat, he played mostly as a substitute in 2016 to 2019, no impact player has ever won the World rugby's player of the year, he is a great player no doubt, but he isn't entitled. Not to say it would be undeserved if he won the award, he didn't even make the nominees in 2019,this year would be no different, the team that will win the world cup, will have their player be named the world rugby player of the year, simply as that.

Many players of the year have been reserves a number of times in the year that they won the award. 2011 France lost the final in the World Cup but Dusatoir won the award. Savea started most games in 2019 for the all black which is what the award assesses. Not previous years. Savea was a nominee in 2019 for player of the year also. Along with Kolbe, Curry, Taufete, Alun Wyn Jones. Try and keep up buddy.
