Just based on your review, Jason, I get the impression of a well put together, young, fresh, fruity, sweet malt, immaturity of which has been skillfully mitigated by active casks selection. Well done. All that said, just because they are using blockchains, there is no way I pay IT prices for 6 yo whisky.

normally the bottles of Ardnamurchan are fairly well priced - this is an exception

Original RRP in UK was £65, €120 is a bit too high unfortunately.

So when you taste that astringency, that is the oaky ness people refer to? If not how do you single out the oak influence flavor in whisky ?

I heard you mention bottle #1735/2618….bottle label has 2576 bottles…I had the same situation with my bottle and I emailed them and they fixed my QR code to now read total number of bottles of 2576….just wondering if they fixed only my QR code or for everyones bottle. I’m curious now if you rescan your bottle

I have sent them my code - but they have not replied that the problem is fixed yet

Jason: on another vid. comment I said I'd read, but unconfirmed, that the Paul Launois vineyard was planted in Chardonnay, but now looking at your bottle it seems to have a somewhat reddish tint, and the taste description of strawberry would imply at least a small amount of Pinot (Noir or Meunier) grapes alongside the Chardonnay. Don't believe everything one reads, sorry. Nougat has a silent T: noo-gah. Barriques are a Bordeaux thing, 225L--but also all the rest of the world making/using those same red grape varietals, plus Shiraz or many others... Burgundy has slightly larger barrels, 228L, mainly used with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Champagne can apparently use either or those sizes. I did not previously know but *historically* they used 205L barrels.
