I have a question, can you build it and not have to program anything, that's the main thing I want to know, I don't do good with that stuff and just want to build and play right out of the box, I don't have my own computer so I can't do it if you have to.

Dejay Rezme Yes, you can use raspberry PI 2 to control. You need to externally connect a 16 channel servo controller (based on PCA9685 chip) with which you can control 16 servos.

Hi - cool video, sorry for the newbie question but I hope you can help me...have googled this and can't find a straight answer as I want to see it. It is about the display output of an Arduino: I have a raspberry pi - it was a gift last year...have learnt a LOT since then about programming and done lots of cool projects....lately I have been tempted to get an Arduino / Uno - to extend my knowledge...and range of available hardware /software /projects.....I have only seen the odd video here and there about Arduino use. Anyway today I was looking at prices - to buy one next week. But I see a problem immediately for me. Does the Arduino have a direct Display Output....eg like the RPi 2 and 3 has HDMI display output, and the early versions use an older TV type....my point is How does one program software, and configure hardware, and set things up etc etc. I see projects to print display output for specific functions - say the temp for a temperature related project. I see the TFT little touchscreens - I have one for my Pi, but does the Arduino have a display connection on the board itself please?? Do you have the equivalent Operating Systems for general use? Do you have storage space for an SD card to store an OS? If not how do you control variables and run code and many other stuff?? My pi serves a lot of uses other than small projects. I write code on it, I write office docs on it, I listen to media, I Read e-books off it, I browse the internet and can play youtube vids....etc etc I see lots of software available for Arduino projects...some in tar-ball format (tar.gz) - So if there isn't an OS to interact with the only thing I|can think is to say...set up projects in Linux, then prepare an SD card or something on this seperate system - to run everything autom,atically (so you dont need a display) - even so I would want to see output of my projects incase of unforseen errors. Anyway I hope you don't take this as a bad view on Arduinos - or trying to compare inany way because I am not for a second. I am simply trying to find out how they work before committing to buying one! Sorry for the long-winded post - I hope you - or - someone reading this can give me some sound advice...I have lots of cool project ideas 0 electronics controlled by software sort of stuff. I really want to e able to understand and use an Arduino - I just don't get the OS and Display Output side of it

First, the Arduino does not have an operating system, as you said, it will run the code you written, which is similar to run a project in your Raspberry Pi. The Arduino does not have a direct display output, but it has a serial debugging output. The Arduino has a specialized IDE, so you should write code on the IDE, connect the Arduino to PC, and download the code to Arduino with IDE tool. You can check the debugging information via Serial window on the IDE. The Arduino can be connected to TFT screen. The screen would not show the system interface as by connecting to the Raspberry Pi it does. The TFT screen’s pixel squares can be directly controlled by the Arduino. All the text and some other information can be displayed on the screen by using the Arduino’s library file easily. The Arduino does not support SD card, so no OS can be installed. Arduino is only aboard based on AVR MCU, which has EEPROM to store running code and some accessible variables. Even though, you cannot write code or office doc on the Arduino, you can still do some experiment about media listening and e-book reading by using Audio module or Shield. As the tar.gz format code you mentioned, yes, it can be unzipped in Linux, you can load and compile code via Arduino IDE, then download the code to AVR MCU on the Arduino by USB cable, the MCU will run the code. Compared with the Raspberry Pi, the Arduino can be very small-size, or low-power consumption, or with precise timer. If you can make an Arduino board, or buy a non-official Arduino, it will be cheap. The Arduino is perfect for some small projects, or using some Arduino board for a big project. The Arduino has been widely used in our life, such as the controlling of electric rice cooker, washing machine…Different boards have different advantages. Get an Arduino or not, it depends on you. Hope these information will help you.

Thank you - I think I will definately get one now. I have done a few electronics projects on my pi using GPIO, but the arduino will open doors to new projects....your explanation was perfect. I now understand how an Arduino operates - and based on my existing kowledge I am confident I can understand how to get started. I like the sound of being able to use the IDE.. .so for a robotics projects you could run different movement codes from the IDE directly - in realtime on another computer that is connected to the Arduino. The first Arduino I ever saw was controlling a quad copter drone from his Android phone....Amazing! Thank you very much
