Arduino Laser RPM meter

I made this Arduino Uno controlled RPM meter to have around when i need it. In this video i show how the meter works. It uses a laser beam that when broken toggles an interrupt on the Arduino.

what is the max RPM value than the arduino UNO or MEGA boards would be able to read.? i want to measure Turbo rpm's
