Pick your Sunfounder kit up so you get the same results I do:

You can get the oscilloscope like I use in this lesson. Note, you do not have to have an oscilloscope to complete this class, but it is helpful in troubleshooting your circuits:

In this video we will learn how to use echolocation in our arduino projects. Echolocation is how bats can fly in the dark. They create a chirp, and then listen for the chirp to reflect off an object. It can then perceive how far the object is away. Similarly, submarines know how far obstructions are away by using Sonar. The submarine sends out an audible ping, and then listens for the return of the ping. For our Arduino, we have a HC-SR04 Ultrasonic sensor which will act like a Sonar. It creates a ping, and then listens for the ping to return. This is useful in robotics so your project can know how far it is from a wall or other object, so it will not run into things. In this lesson we will hook the sensor up, and show how to make measurements. Enjoy!
