Are aftermarket key fobs really a bargain?

Myy key fob broke when i pressed the button to open it. The key part just fell out. Ford said $199 for labor and before they could even tell me how much for the key i hung up. Locksmith does it for way cheaper. I hate all this technology they put in the cars nowadays

Some cars your can program the fob with the settings thats already in the car. All you need it the fob. 😊

There are ways to minimize loss and damage potential as to key fobs. I wear them around my neck and treat them as if fragile. The next step is to consider asking about auto insurance coverage on your car policy. Lastly, learn to replace batteries or have battery places replace batteries each 3/4 years if u keep cars long term. I do. I have a 20 yr old Audi TT and have not had issues with the key fobs. Yeah insurance way to expensive for me no thanks
