What do you think about the evolution of the XC hardtail? Would you choose an XC hardtail or gravel bike for the longer adventures? 🤔 let the chat know 👇

I gonna choose mid school xc hardtail. Because they wasnt really outdated compared by modern day xc hardtail

XC hardtail rocks harder than the gravel…

I had to pinch myself for a minute as I thought I was watching an enthusiasts MTB channel but You tube seems to have turned into a giant Advert stream of late . Whilst I realise it pays the bills i find it soul destroying that we are being feasted on by commercialism at every turn. I’m off out for a ride to cleanse my soul.

I don’t really understand the complaint. This is free entertainment to consume but it’s not free to create it. I have no problem with this channel or any creator monetizing their content so they can continue to produce content.
@bongobob70792 сағат бұрын
@@Scomelbasses "I don’t really understand the complaint." yeh, we see that. When this channel is so heavily pushing it's sponsors it makes a lot of us very scepticle of anything they say when it comes to what they think of products. This channel does have some great content but I would not listen to anything they say when it comes to products and reviews of companies they constantly push on this channel. Many channels do content without constantly pushing their sponsorship deals. Canyon, Propain, Orbea, Crankbrothers Pedals, Ergon, Vittoria Tires, Topeak and camelbak to name a few. Any of those companies look familiar? They should as that's all you will see here. Like I said i do love some of the content but as soon as they go on again and again about their sponsorship plugs and not showing alternatives that may actually be better I switch off and skip the video.
@reefbloke34 минут бұрын
@@Scomelbasses the thing is most channels just dedicate a small snippet during the video to the sponsor , that way I can just forward that part if I want to. This whole video was basically an ad with a thin veneer of MTB history thrown in as a lube up. Then we have genuine content by the creators such and the Ali express video but even then you almost felt the resistance to rubber stamp any of the components anyway for fear of upsetting their sponsors due to conflict of interests even if they were ‘o.k’ whilst obviously probably not being great. So in one hand they often try to give us what we want but fall short due to a sponsor gagging order . When doddy was around things seemed a ‘little’ less weighted towards sponsors with regard to actual content ,at least from memory . This was just an Ad wrapped up as content in my opinion . In a world increasingly steered by subliminal advertising I just had to sigh.

It is a slick looking bike, I would love to try one. I own the prior gen Trek Procal and the Ibis DV9 and they both take unique approaches for XC carbon frames and are both fantastic bikes. A carbon XC 29er can be a great day ride bike, especially if it doesn’t have the aggressive negative drop stem design.

I'm sure Hambini has an opinion about that frame.

There will never not be a space in my shed for a good hardtail xc bike. It's where I started riding with gears. Albeit with a very heavy steel huffy sledgehammer

I had 8 years off biking and a year ago got back into it. I went for a hard tail to get my old skills back and learn some new ones. Will move to full Sus in time but still super happy with my HT

30 seconds in: is there a place for xc hardtails.... Considering anything more then an xc hardtail would be overkill on everything I ride: well yes there is. Anyone who claims you need a full sus for Geestmerambacht of Schoorl ( Dutchies from North-Holland will know, I gues ), is talking out of his arse.

Genuinely curious, engineered flex, wouldn't it feel completely different depending on rider weight? As in if you enjoy a few to many biscuits vs being on the lighter end of the scale. Would this mean too much/not enough flex?
@anotherider239 минут бұрын
Looks like a gravel bike. Engineering flex into the frame shows rear suspension is actually needed despite what the masochists advocating for hardtails say. The kink in the frame is where it will break eventually. Five sided (pentagon) frame triangles - really? A service hatch is good, but headset cable routing puts appearance before practicality.
