Are all sinks on caravans rubbish at draining, or is it just ours?

As i have stated in someone's reply on here we use mr muscles drain cleaner in the kitchen and bathroom including the shower leave for around 1hr job done

Hello, have you tried Mr mussel drain and sink unblocker? It's good stuff you pour it down and leave it and it dissolves all the gunk, might be worth trying xx

Hi, Remove your waste connection from the van and see if it runs out, if it does then your pipe to the grey waste is blocked. Why not use a domestic set up for grey waste with 22mm pipe instead of the curly grey waste pipe, worked for us. See Rob's wise ways vlog. Hope this helps 👍

We have got the domestic set up for our grey waste. Tony's "called" checked them and says there fine 🤷‍♀️

Tony, the problem with the drainage is the plastic pipe that you put in the ground is too far in and it’s not letting it drain. He needs to pull it up away and it’ll drain. Hope that will help.

If the grade drain is below ground touching the west water, it doesn’t drain has to be away at least 6 inches

Hi Deb check your outside waste pipes if your sinks are not draining , it needs to be a steady drain from the van to the drains as water won’t drain upwards

Great video. You need to use a large cup full of soda crystals on each application to have any chance of clearing a blockage.

A note about the window problem of cracking, is it only on the 8ft wide vans as we have a 2018 swift elegance 580 and don't have any issues at all,so it might be worth looking into it as the extra wide could be causing more stress on the van due to expansion and construction due to the weather.

Hi use the uniblock I think that’s what it’s called it’s a red bottle from home bargains , I put it in over night and it cleared all the drains 👍❤

Hi Debs, We had an old caravan with blocked pipes, lots of washing up liquid down the drain and hot water from the tap cleared it. Could try that?

I find my drains clear better if front of van is up slightly to help with the fall and I use rigid pipe to the drain.

We use Fenwicks Waste Water System Cleaner to clear the drain pipe.

For the pipe my dad disconnects the pipe and checks nothing is blocking drain connects it back up and gives it a run with water If you try it hope it helps 👍👍

I bet your pipe is air locked. If your on fully serviced pitch with a grey waste drain . Make your drain pipe as short as possible with no bends or kinks on it . And if you use a waste master shorten the pipe that drops into it . .

Put some washing up liquid in plug holes and leave it for the week it will brake up an fat what’s in there then wash with hot water when you go back to van

YOUR PIPES ARE NOT BLOCKED . ALL CARAVANS HAVE A LOT SMALLER BORE WASTE PIPE THAN U ARE USED TO AT HOME.. SOME MITE SAY CARAVAN NOT LEVEL. WE HAVE A PLUNGER WHICH WE HAVE TO USE SOMETIMES , BUT NOT ALL.

It's not our first caravan. I know they are not like the pipes at home. This sink has not always done it, so there is a problem somewhere. 👍
