As a lorry driver myself I can confirm that lorry drivers will look at/watch anything that stands out or just makes a change from the road in front and other trucks. It's like when you walk past a field of cows and they just stand and watch til you're out of sight 😆

In the UK and Europe, most countries have overall length regulations for HGVs. That's why most of the tractor units are Cabovers and only have a single drive axle, to keep them compact, so the trailer can be as long as possible. You mostly only see long nose trucks with twin drive axles in heavy haulage and Recovery trucks.

We all know each other because we all run the same routes and keep bumping into each other. I do a small, discreet truck and know all the polish guys doing the same here in mainland Europe, it's a small village to be honest and we all get your stuff to you on time, big or small rigs. It's a whole other culture, someone should document one day. Always have the time for a supportive word for the Ukrainian lads, yep, they're still working and leaving home with all those worries, fair play to them and all the best to them.

One of my brothers works for a transportation company dispatching drivers to their destinations. Drivers often meet others at the main business office as they do have to come in occasionally. But the rest mostly recognize other drivers by their rigs. It’s like if you sat by someone on a train and you both had on Man U (or other favorite team) jerseys. Plus drivers switch companies over time but still remain cordial. And Dude, I am so tired of streaming movies with differences in download speeds and spotty coverage, plus the way that sound mixed for movies get jacked up when adjusted for television, etc. I was too lazy to toss my movies and music CDs and now my laziness has paid off because I don’t have to rebuy and rebuild. This was fun to watch. Thanks. 😊

My favorite places to stop on multi-day cross country trips in the US are larger truck stops. The bathrooms are always well kept, and they have a good variety of food, including healthy options. Many now have overnight RV/car spaces available that keeps truck spaces open for their use. Truckers have federally mandated rest periods, so their spaces shouldn’t be used by non-commercial vehicles.
