Are anti-tampering laws and speed limiters coming?

Today I'm talking about new laws from the UK and some that have hit the US without many riders knowing.

New York is already coming down with both feet on the exhaust noise laws. They tried it here in NH years ago, but the testing equipment wasn't up to the task and the ticket was easily overturned. I am sure we will have a revisit. Of course, there are performance mods and flat out, "I want it as loud as possible" types. Unfortunately the latter types draw the unwanted attention.

One day soon I’ll be the white uncle with a country place that no one knows about. They’ll say it used to be a farm, before the motor laws. I’ll be buying my last 2 and 4 wheel vehicles before long and they will be models I am in full control of.

I think in Singapore their noise pollution laws are going to cap the allowable noise level at something like 79db or so.

I think that there are different changes that happen with each generation. Some are progress like you said but regulation of how we mod our bikes is not progress.

Again this is pure example of being a bully picking on the minority. The motorcycle community is such a small percentage of The travelers on the road they should not be crying about how loud we are or how fast we want to go. I can't speak on other countries but if this starts happening in the US it is a major violation of freedom.

The whole world has gone insane....its sickening that some non rider in a suit thinks he knows what's best for me and is going to tell me what to do when he has no clue what goes into riding a motorcycle. Big brother won't stop until they stick their filthy nose into everything. Whatever happened to minding your own business? All I can say is I hope this woke nonsense comes to an end because it's getting old.

I think the majority of the motorcycle riders are fine, but there is always that 5% that ruin things for everyone, the need the loudest and fasted bike and then drive up and down a populated area revving their engine like morons for attention. I have 3 Harley's, all have aftermarket exhaust nd full stage 1 with tune and 1 with stage 2. That small group of people that ruin things for everyone because they think rules dont apply to them are the ones that piss me off.
