When I lived in New York I had to wash my car every week. It just got dirty naturally. For some crazy reason my car stays so clean in North Carolina that I only have to wash it once a month.

Final comment... I buy stuff at govplanet all the time, including the service vehicle I use for my business. It's a Chevy uplander 2008 that only had 73k miles. Rebuild tranny, not to bad a shape for $375. It's current value is near $6k I'd say I did pretty well on that one!

1LE is a track package from Chevy. Upgrade suspension with magnetic ride control, stickier tires , upgraded brakes, extra cooling, performance exhaust, performance data recorder, recaro seats and suede trim inside. It's about an $8k and makes the car dominate the track. Very desirable cars, I think they will be even more so in a few years

Born and raised in Boston, now live in the Sothwest. My sister still lives in Boston. She had a 2007 Versa that literally bent in half when it was raised on a lift by a shop to show her why they wouldn't give her an inspection sticker. That's how badly it was rotted out. I don't miss that at all. I also don't even need a torch in my shop.

Ever been to the auction in Orlando? It's a Monday morning auction, it used to be the largest in the world..... But that was 20 plus years ago! But the last 2 lanes are red carpet lanes, 100k plus cars only!

I just sold my 2015 Ram2500 I bought brand new for the exact same price I paid for it. It's a North Carolina truck with only 29 thousand miles and it looks like its brand new. Gonna go to an auction down here and try my luck. I've got 2 kids getting ready to drive so I need 3 cheaper vehicles instead of one nice one. Guy came down from up north to buy it and couldn't believe is was 7 years old. Gotta love the south.

I live in Illinois part of the rust belt it's incredible how quickly they eat up around here no matter almost anything that you do including frequent washing I've owned and repaired cars from out of the rust belt and they are a joy to put wrenches on. It also has been my observation that once cars get rusty people start beating them and neglecting them including skipping most maintenance because the value is so low and they don't expect them to be around much longer. Some of the labor on the chassis of severely rusted cars can be literally 10 times as long to do a repair as a non-rusted

The Maserati Ghibli is on the 300 platform. The 3.0L V6 started life as a Chrysler block, was sent to Ferrari, and dumped in the Ghibil. My neighbor owns two of these cars and loves them like his children.

Coming from WI, I was in awe of all these rust free vehicles… I’d immediately garage them and not take them out in the snow 😂. Awesome to see survivors, especially those suburbans and that indestructible 4.0L I6 in that Grand Cherokee. My dad had a 98 Cherokee with the 4.0L I6 and ended up getting 420k out of it, then the tranny started slipping, but the engine was still strong.

i work for the city of Charlotte a lot of government vehicles have much lower miles then there competitors, and they are on a routine maintenance they are normally let go once parts arent available and they go off a point system so lets say car is 8 year old but has had a lot of work done like 35k worth it can come in to service for a 1000.00 quote for normal maintenance stuff but if it exceeds the number on there point scale they will let it go thats why sometimes you find old old stuff low miles becUse it never cost money to maintain so they keep it longer

You should come up west coast, WA and Oregon auctions.....totally opposite cars are worth more here ie subaru and honda and commuters. I'd bet the high mileage suv's and trucks that need a little bit that you do alot of would be cheaper than local.....enough so to cover shipping. The cherry on top is everything is rust free.

I truly hope you bought the 300zx. Thats a twin turbo manual, those are impossible to find these days for a good price and very rarely seen in auctions. Don't be afraid to pay 10k for it, just don't go over 20k.

Richmond market is still outrageously high.. We had to go to Winston-Salem NC to find the price and mileage we wanted .. The main reason we moved to southern VA is cheaper living plus no road salt .. 😆- my dad was military and lived in Nashua, North Shore of Boston, Plattsburgh & Lee Center, NY and - crappiest of all- Ohio...also lived in Alabama, Washington State, California, Oklahoma and overseas in several spots. I never buy "Salt Belt" vehicles. EVER! When I moved from the West Coast to NC a couple years back, I brought a GT350 and a Valiant sedan. Guess which one gets much more interest? The Plymouth. Solid, no rot, all the vinyl and dash original & are in great shape...my '99 F350 is rock solid, too. The factory frame markings are still legible.

Richmond area is hit or miss as the area gets 1-3 snowfalls per year and the majority don't wash the underside of their cars off. Cars usually 20 years or older show more of the rust, but if sticking with 15 years or newer, you should be ok as long as its not owned from a NE transplant.

I have a 2001 Excursion with the V8, cleaner than that one! Only 125 thousand miles. Here in Texas, not a speck of rust! Drives and runs like a new truck. One owner, maintained. It gets really great milage for one of these.
