@@simtyfulit's quite simple. Gallaghers passing accuracy isn't indicative of his ability to make progressive passes. CB's generally have the most passes and highest pass accuracy in matches, not because they're the best passers of the ball(quite the opposite), it's because they're making sideways passes and easy passes. This is why it's important to watch football. Context is key.
@munashe76 ай бұрын
@@LogicsupersedesExactly, Fabregas in a recent interview mentioned about present midfielders having such a high pass percentage passes leading to nothing. Most of those passes are not progressive nor killer passes into the final third.
@Logicsupersedes6 ай бұрын
@@munashe7 I need to go watch that because whenever I use this argument people seem to ignore it. Now fabregas is in my corner they can't deny it lol I'd much rather a player that looks to break the lines with a pass and fails 25/100 times, than a guy passing back to his CB failing 1/100 times. And it's not a knock on Gallagher, I think he's a solid player. But for a chelsea team that's going to win the league, is he really a starter? Not in my opinion. Squad player, sure, but not a starter in a squad looking to win titles.

I’m going to assume there is a different reason. We are still making sure to retain players like Tyrique George and Acheampong. Someone as experienced as Bath surely realizes it’s only a very select few who will make it into the first team. I believe the style of football we’ve all been hearing about from the directors through briefings and later cemented by the hiring of Maresca is the reason Bath has probably decided it’s time to move on to a new challenge. The club and the coach will want the academy to train stylistically like the first team. Hard to tell a guy as experienced and successful as Bath to make major changes to his program. Let’s see who they bring in. But ultimately, the first team will have to start winning again if you still hope to recruit the best young domestic talent. Success breeds success.

I think Bath is standing up for our youth player's right to get into the first team instead of being farmed out to buy kids across the world. I understand players like Paez and Estevao, but farming mid players to dump out our own is madness, and if it is just burning money to hit that required 2bn investment for the sake of selling off the club, maybe they're sacking off the guys who figured it out and started asking questions.

If Clearlake actually got into Europe they’d face Academy grads at Barcelona, Bayern, Milan etc. European royalty. Different playing system through the levels doesn’t really count. They were managerial level not running drills. “The concept of a dedicated nursery club of the type we know today was only just coming into vogue in May 1939, when Birrell made the switch from Queen’s Park Rangers to Stamford Bridge with the promise of shaking things up. A keystone of his plan was investment in youth. At the time, teams had scouts to unearth the best youngsters, of course, but there were no real provisions within the professional game specifically for 16-to-18-year-olds to learn their trade. We now know that the first proper Chelsea Juniors match took place 80 years ago this month on 25 May 1940, with Birrell’s old club QPR the opposition. That pioneering Chelsea line-up was: H Blackburne; H Holder, L Clatworthy; C H White, R Greenwood, A E Wharton; A Friend, A N Other, Arthur Smith, V D Winn, T H Young. At least three of this first batch of youngsters went on to play for the first team during regional wartime football: Les Clatworthy, Bert Friend and, of course, future England manager Ron Greenwood.”

People being outraged about this is pathetic, as if anyone is on the inside of the academy and have any idea of this. Away take your head for a shite. The only failure is how little actually make the 1st team. I'd love us to have 3 under 18s in the squad every season and hopefully Maresca gets the first 21 in the right positions and get a good run of wins with 3-0 up with 20 mins to go then hope he has the future in mind and plays at least 2/3 teens for 20 min spells and none of this Injury time BS with NO chance to really prove their worth. We're going to shag this season, not saying we can topple City just yet but 2nd has to be the target. I'm not greedy, 1st season for Maresca, top 4 will be sufficient... COYB
