Are chickens worth your time?

In this video, I am working on my chicken pen, making it better for my chickens. I’m building a shade canopy and doing some painting on the coop addition, I did this spring and the canopy. I also discuss how our chickens are a benefit to us. There are more than just meat and eggs. They also produce great fertilizer to help your fruit trees and gardens grow. Thanks for watching.

Yes, those chickens are pretty good to have around. You can eat the eggs in the meat from them and you can use their fertilizer to grow your veggies and fruits. I have a few of those old songs I can pull out of the woodwork I’ll throw a few more in.

You do nice work, Sir; as always. Wife and I are undecided about chickens. We had them for about 20 years at our old property. Now at this new location, we have found so many people selling eggs, it took away a bit of the motivation to raise our own.

Well, as long as you got an outlet to get some good farm fresh eggs, I can see your point. We’re getting enough eggs from our chickens to keep some, give some away and sell a few. We have some good layers. But I think I got them taken care of for the winter so now onto other projects.

Well, thank you Vicky. I seen a whole flock of sandhill cranes fly over this evening. They sound pretty cool. They must be headed south for the winter.
