I've got to admit that there are a lot of Chromebook haters out there. They think that they are useless because you can't game on them. I've been using mine for years, I have several of them and enabling the VM Linux fills any voids that you could have.

Quite a few companies have been taken down by one employee opening up an attachment on an email, and that allowed a bit of ransomware to enter the system, and a few days later the entire system was locked up and a $50,000 ransom was being demanded by the ransomware creators. Only the companies who used Macs or Linux for their computer systems seem to not be affected by similar infected email attachments.

no, it's nearly impossible to get viruses or any malware in chromebook, if any viruses luckly break into chrome os security, the moment you restart the laptop chrome os will do factory reset.

Also to add to all this, make damn sure your main google account is locked down tight in every area, including 2fa, and everything else will be as well.

It is not possible to use any encrypted external drive with Chromebook :-( One exemption: external drives with build in encryption-logic and keyboard.

A used laptop with Windows 7 or 10 just runs circles around this skinny mini. For better security in the office, just use Gibraltar Firewall. It's free also.

Before you reply: it's easy to get the false impression of someone by just reading a youtube comment, so just a disclaimer, I don't think I'm better than you or something, I'm just writing to raise awareness about a subject I believe is vital.
