When I was on the far left, I was sick, obese, with blue hair and piercings in my face. I was absolutely unattractive. I have found since becoming more conservative, and embracing my more natural features, losing the weight, going back to my natural hair color and growing it out, etc- I look a LOT better.

I think a big part of our happiness stems from a deeply rooted idea that no one gets left behind and a general lack of judgement. An argument could be made that our way of doing politics has shaped the way we think - or perhaps it is the other way around? Our lack of an adversarial system is probably a big factor. Moving away from religion and the insane judgement that is rooted therein definitely plays a part. We also have what I would call “true” freedom. Our system takes away a lot of our worries, especially financially, these are all liberal principles, which allow for a more care free life and thus more freedom to go do what we truly enjoy. In contrast to the US wherein people can do whatever they want except because of the economy.. they cannot. We have created true opportunity for everyone here. They do not have a lot of opportunities in the US. Notice the difference when you ask “what do you do?” We typically respond with our hobbies instead of our work, and in my experience, more often than not, they are the same thing. In the US they are defined by their work. What they (and thus who they are) is their jobs. Quite significant. Anyways. Big ramble. Sorry. Have a good day, my friend.

Smiling amiably probably raises attractiveness 20% in either gender. If you exercise, you likely realize that some things that affect your mood are within your control. I think the left/right differ in terms of views on agency and locus of control (evaluate things more in terms of cultural tides - which might create a skew towards being disempowered). So beyond the uniform of being bohemian (and needing people to know it), there might be reasons for leftists to be sourly unsmiling, anxious, anaemic or sallow. Attractiveness would favor being vital and loving life. Dating someone where you're saddled with making sure they take ALL of their antidepressants might not appeal. Same with the prospect of someone incapable of having a conversation that doesn't involve Karl Marx, deconstruction or Edward Said. Constantly running around screaming the 'the world is on fire' seems like a lot of drama.

I'm a conservative I dated a guy who wasn't a liberal, but had left leaning views and policies and I gained a lot of weight in the relationship because I felt secure in the wrong way possible. He said he didn't mind chubby women but preferred skinny women or both? which kinda made me let myself go because I felt secure after hearing that. After I broke up w him, I was at 124 and now i'm at 108 and still counting down i'm 4'9'' so 124 is overweight for me, I feel a lot happier and healthier and i've been taking care of my personal hygiene more. i'm not blaming him i'm blaming myself for used to having a weak mind. Now if someone says they don't mind chubby women i'm gonna get mad at them.

I have been homeless for many years in life prior to getting HUD for the first time ever. I finally got a chance to get skills training and I have brain damage. I love a lot of what @brettcooper says on her shows and I agree a lot with because being conservative with values and resources is important. With a disability and not much money and not being able to be hired at places because of severe brain damage, MONEY is a big sign of if you will have a family, if you will stability, and money dictates who will even hire you or not. I do believe in the American values and dreams but it's hard when no one looks your direction and see the value of adding you to a job or a permanent place to live, etc.

Yeah, I think conservatives miss the point because affordability is a major issue. Even conservatives are having less or no kids. If people can't even afford a house, how can they have a kid? I'm in a similar boat. If people have a love and drive to have children, please go for it! For some people, children are a blessing. And for some people, such as myself, I have no desire to have children. I find it very disheartening that so many on the right have this narrative that your life will only be fulfilled with having lots of kids. It's like being back in middle school with kids trying to pressure you to do something just because _they_ think it's great. Parenthood isn't for everyone, and those who choose not to forgo that path shouldn't be thought of being unfulfilled. There's a plethora of reasons why people choose not to have children.

The connection between happiness, healthier, hotter, and either conservatism or liberalism cannot be determined generally because what makes one person happy, good health and hotter, may not necessarily work for another within the same political ideology. It is therefore important to appreciate different views rather than assume that our beliefs are always right in relation to happiness. Well both have a strength and weaknesses. Well what you guys think? Well guys are you having a good life in this situation that being conservative or a being liberal? Or you being a good life on your own?

I stumbled onto this video and have to say 'Wait a minute" It is so tiring to hear people on the right say that those on the left hate families, don't want to marry, don't exercise, blah blah. That they hate Holidays. That they are 'woke' - oh please let's let that tired old word die. Etc. I have always been a democrat. I am also married and have been for many years. I am a grandmother so obviously I have had kids. My family has always done Holidays. While I am not religious I don't hate mainstream religion. I just feel exteme religion is something that should not be mainstream. And separation of Church and State should stand. I am a history buff and care about our long term foundation with the running of this country like separation of Church and State. And not messing with the Constitution as Trump is thinking of doing. I also find the right's fantasy of America being a Christain Nation odd. Our founding fathers were not traditional Christians but, actually most were Deists. It has similarities to Christianity but, also beliefs are different in other ways. I suggest googling this. But, yes, it is true about most of the founding fathers. I never hated the right. At least until recent times. For many years Republicans were a mainstream political party. They worked with democrats and many were friends across the aisle. Neither side demonized the other. Made them to be evil. But, both sides were politicians who went home, had town halls, worked with small businesses and the local clubs like the rotary club, etc. And things worked very well in this country. We did very well. Then certain oligarchs and think tanks got together and decided to change the Republican Party and remade it. No longer allowed to compromise. Suddenly democrats were evil. then this nonsense about democrats hating families and marriage. Hating everyday life. All to gin up votes. With Fox it became gospel. Fox and talk radio demanded fealty of the politicians and demanded they hate certain groups and the other side. Our country stopped running well and we are falling behind. We cannot get anything positive done. because the republicans began the demonizing and the democrats wanted to get back. This. nonsense of are conservatives better looking? Please. Good looking people exist on both sides. Both sides have healthy people and those who work out. Both sides have positive and upbeat people and depressed people. People on both sides love to laugh. Go to the beach. Have a picnic. Cookout. Shop. Go to stylists. Go on trips. Both sides care about their kids education. The left just feels the whole teachers, etc. are trying to make your boy a girl, or fill the kid's head with sex, or turn kids gay, etc. it such a political ploy designed to freak out their supporters and its another bogus 'let's scare them' silliness. Only Teachers, who work hard, do a good job, teach normal things and don't do nefarious things to your child are getting hurt and scapegoated. As well as innocent librarians. That is wrong. My great wish is for the republicans to go back to being normal like they were before. Go back to at least the 80s. There are a lot of democrats who wish this and for the right to come out of their Trump daze and see the real Trump. He is a bad man. Not because he is republican or anything else like that. It is that he is really a bad man.
