The short answer: Yes, but you might have trouble collecting if there isn't a Sears near you.

That is a #44975 or #44985 1/2" drive "teardrop" raised panel ratchet. 9 times out of 10, it's not "worn out", it needs to be dismantled, cleaned and re-lubed and it's good for another 40 years. I have repaired several "broken" ones that I bought off Ebay. Out of 10, maybe two actually required a repair kit. The rest needed to be just cleaned and relubed. The kit part # he needs should be part #43447. If he can't get it from Sears, there are sellers on Ebay that have them from time to time.

I think it’s pretty awesome that he called the news and put Lowe’s on blast. It’s ridiculous they won’t exchange these tools.

My local Lowe’s still does that. I go in grab the tool go to the front and they do it no questions asked.

I wanna say as I comment on this video January 5th of 2021 I took a 1/4 ratchet To my local lowes i had no problems and it is old Sears Craftsman Yes sadly my new one is not made here just like the rest of the tools now No hassle no worries very nice about it of course remember the basic and tools is what they will replace just like the days of Sears Also I've been to a second lowes store the next town over I was in the area for something else and I had to have a socket replaced no hassle no problems so Hopefully everybody else has OK no hassle issues in the future going to Lowe's

Recently returned a 3/8 flexible head ratchet with plastic handle that was twenty years old at a Lowes no questions asked. The new ratchet is not the same no plastic handle and made in Taiwan.

Yes, sometimes you can get warranty service. But in my personal experience over the last few years, since SBD took over Craftsman, only half of my products will exchange. And that is only with a lot of difficulty. I suppose if all you had was a socket or a wrench, you might be ok. But I never buy Craftsman anymore. And hope I can replace some of my broken stuff sometimes. If not, I buy Husky.

So. I have to add this. I bought a brand new 216 piece craftsman mechanic set. First off. It’s not made in USA so I was already aware of the fact that it was of less quality but it seemed like a nice kit and my dad had always loved craftsman for they lifetime warranty.

The new craftsman mini head is the best for the money ratchet ever made in my opinion and far superior to anything craftsman has ever had! That guy should try to clean his ratchet because those almost never wear out they just get dry grease! my most used ratchet like his was use over 25 years professionally and the gears are great in it

Lowes won't even warranty the tools I bought from them 6 months ago

Yeah but honestly I feel like the wrenches and their screwdrivers are a tighter fit than other wrenches and screwdrivers

Well for my bad luck sears is out of service in my town
@Kreacher1974
If you have old craftsman do not try to warranty them for new ones. People will buy the old tools for a good price.

I would fix that wrench 🔧 because the new craftsman tools are cheap as far as integrity.

Craftsman ratchets suck, aside from their shtty ratchets the rest of their line up is amazing.
@jasonweishaupt1828
Buy a different brand. Sheesh!

You just had bad luck my friend. Lowes & Ace Hardware will replace any craftsman tool that has full lifetime warranty!

How ignorant is this person he is trying to get a replacement for a Craftsman-tools made by Sears not a replacement for a Craftsman-tools made Stanley Black n Decker for a Craftsman-tools made by Stanley Black n Decker it like saying an apple is an orange.
