Are Ecobricks answer to plastic pollution?

Many people are trying to reduce the use of single-use plastics or to recycle them and more than ever before we are seeing people creating "ecobricks" by filling empty plastic bottles with single-use plastics.
However is Ecobricks the answer to plastic pollution?

Avoid use of plastic bottles altogether, using Ecobricks for construction is the next best option
