£10,000 over 6 years, 12 months per year, is approx £140/ month (and another 20% on top of that). Time to put rent up by £166 to take this EPC account..... The opportunity would be to set yourself up as an EPC assessor and self assess your own properties 😮

C'mon.., there would have to be compliance... 'Tick Box'...?

@@mymanifestingjust buy insulation monthly, workers monthly and windows too! The 10,000 of landlords leaving every month must be thicker than the tenants i guess, explains why tenants are not house owners.

They are changing the whole EPC scoring next year..... they will either just make it easier to get a C so it looks like they have delivered a benefit or push ahead with making landlords spend 10k to save a tenant £80 a year on heating bills and all that will happen is people will sell up and utter carnage in the market

There's noway they're going to introduce this. Getting a 1930s terraced house up to rating C will cost daft money. Therefore everyone will sell the most rented type of house.....mass homelessness.

I wouldn't put it past them. Labour are brain dead they've proven this in the last few weeks

They will address rental market, ok. So if I have a residential property with LODGERS that EPC reform does not affect me, does it? 🤔

Ruled by the morons, voted in by the same. If the new Tenants Rights bill is passed and building works are required to update to EPC, such as new roof, insulation on walls etc, how do you remove the tenants in order to carry on the works?

Rents. Are going up by 200 a month because of this and benefits will have to pay out more ,,,,,so it’s renters are the one that’s going to get hurt,
